Best of shelli celebrate - two cool

Today's two cool cards were not only created with the Best of Shelli Collector stamp set, they were inspired by Shelli Gardner, as well!  Shelli posted a simple version of this card on her SoShelli.com blog. and I absolutely loved it!

I'm not at all tired of the new In Colors yet, are you?!  I am consistently drawn to them (and I didn't even think I liked pastel colors!).  They are simply delicious and I'm savoring every second!

I've been getting lots of use out of my In Color Patterns DSP Stack, and it is a great combination of papers for this project.  You need the small prints that the Stacks provide for best results when paper piecing.

I started with a Whisper White card base and layered this version with 4" x 5-1/4" Crisp Cantaloupe polka dot paper.  Then I added a 4" x 1-1/2" strip of Strawberry Slush card stock was embossed with the Fancy Fany Folder.

I didn't realize it at first, but the gifts image in the set actually has only three gifts—Shelli had added another package to the stack!  Cool!

First, I stamped the gifts image near the top of a die-cut from the Deco Labels Collection Framelits.  Then, I stamped the same image onto the four different colors of In Color Patterns Paper: Crisp Cantaloupe, Coastal Cabana, Pistachio Pudding, and Strawberry Slush.

I cut the package size that I wanted from each of the colors, then adhered them with SNAIL directly over the original stamped image.  If your cut marks are a bit uneven, no worries!  The stamped image underneath with conceal any mistakes.

For the bottom package, take a bit more care to make sure you cut along the outside of the line, so it all shows up, then just adhere it at the bottom of your stack.  Imagine—you could add unlimited packages to this stack if you wanted!

The "celebrate" word is from Best of Birthdays, stamped in StazOn Black, and colored with Coastal Cabana ink and a Blender Pen.

Before adhering the die-cut to the card front with Dimensionals, I wrapped the bottom with Pistachio Pudding Ruffled Stretch Trim.  TIP: Adhere the trim to the back and let the front ribbon hang loose…it just looks better.

I adored the look of this card so much that I "needed" to make it in another In Color combination!  This time the background is in Coastal Cabana with a strip of Pistachio Pudding.

The sentiment is colored with Strawberry Slush and I used Crisp Cantaloupe ribbon.

Honestly, I totally wanted to try EVERY In Color combination, but alas, I was running out of time before I left on my trip.  Maybe I'll have to assemble some when I return.  LOVE!!!

  1. Another beautiful card! I may have to go home tonight and try this. Should be something I can manage while watching t.v. with the hubby.
