I didn't plan on watching The Royal Wedding this morning, but my dog woke me up at 5:00 am. So, what the heck, I flipped on the TV and watched it for a couple of hours before heading back to bed. It was a beautiful wedding, and the bride looked stunning, of course.
I only really wanted to see the kiss on the balcony, but I was too tired to stay up, so I waited for the re-plays later.
Here's my quick Royal Wedding re-cap…
Best moment: Seeing William tell Kate she looked beautiful.
Worst moment: Trying to get the ring on her finger. (cue pregnancy rumors…)
Best dress (other than the bride): Pippa Middleton looked gorgeous! And, those flower girls were adorable!
Worst hat: Oh, Beatrice! What were you thinking?!
Too Cool Wedding Detail: Cruising around in the convertible with the license plate "JU5T WED."
Congrats to Will & Kate! May you be one of the few royal couples to actually stay married! Cheers!
(Is it horrible that I was much more emotionally moved by Steve Carell's last episode of The Office? Oh well, what can I say, I'm not into a lot of pomp and circumstance.)
So anyway, today, in honor of the new Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, I thought I'd share a beautiful wedding card that Carmen DeBruce shared with us at our last Demo Meeting.
First of all, I love that she did "two cool" cards, just like I like to do! You know my motto—one to give, one to keep!
I think these cards simply smashing! They have a perfect mixture of "whimsy" and "elegance." I love the bride and groom hearts, complete with pearls (and cleavage) for the bride, with a bowtie and mini scrunchy flower boutonniere (created with one of the Itty Bitty Punches) for the groom. And, she gave each card the royal treatment by mounting them on texture embossed Bride Designer Series Paper (sadly now retired).
Carmen CASEd the wedding hearts idea from Dawn Griffith: Bride & Groom Hearts.
