Hi Stamping Friends!
Have you seen Melissa Kerman's Impressions of Tarnished Foil technique? It's so much fun! I CASEd her card from my Too Cool Team's masculine card shoebox swap last Monday and everyone loved it! Check out the details below!

Big On Birthdays Impressions of Tarnished Foil Cards
I couldn't resist CASEing a card by Melissa Kerman for our team masculine card swap! When I saw her card earlier this year, her technique reminded me of my Faux Patina technique, only with Silver Foil and a lot less sponging! They are both fun techniques that create a Too Cool background with lots of textures and patterns! Love, love, LOVE!
Background Basics—Speaking of cool patterns, I love the Urban Underground Designer Series Paper patterns, especially this dark grey with a textured concrete pattern. I cut it to 5-1/4" x 4" and layered it onto a Basic Black card base.
Impressions of Tarnished Foil—To achieve this look, I started with a 2" x 4" piece of Silver Foil, then rubbed my soon-to-retire Jet Black Staz-On ink pad over the top, direct-to-paper, to create some black streaking. Next, I ran the piece through the Big Shot with the Hexagons Dynamic Texture Impressions Folder. I used a sponge to randomly add VersaMark Ink over the top, dabbing in about 5 places, then embossing those areas with Gold Embossing Powder. I repeated the process a second time using Copper Embossing Powder. Then, to bring out the textures and give it a richer look, I rubbed on a little more Staz-On ink over the top.
See Melissa Kerman's helpful tutorial: Impressions of Tarnished Foil.
I adhered the textured layer to the card front using a couple strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive and SNAIL.
Embossed Sentiment—I stamped the Big on Birthdays greeting in VersaMark onto a 3-3/4" x 1-3/4" piece of Basic Grey card stock, then heat embossed with Copper Embossing Powder. It's layered onto a 4" x 2" piece of Silver Foil, then popped up with Dimensionals. I added a couple Rhinestone Jewels, too.
Two Cool—I did a second version using the flipside of the Urban Underground DSP. The tarnished foil was created the same way.
Sweet Sentiment—I embossed the greeting in Gold this time to pick up the Delightful Dijon patterns in the paper. Very nice!
