Anything Goes Open Stamp Night

Anything goes graphicJoin Me on Thursday, August 7th from 5:30 – 9:00 pm

You're invited to bring stamping projects and join me for an informal night of stamping at my studio!  Bring your own inks & consumables, and use my stamps & tools!  It's also a great makeup class night, in case you had to miss an event you were scheduled to attend.

Learn More About My Anything Goes Open Stamp Nights.

Please note: Starting in September, I'll be cutting back on my Anything Goes Open Stamp Nights so I can make room for the Countdown To Christmas Class Series in my calendar.  I may try to add a night in sometime in the last quarter.

Blendabilities - ensemble small

Today, I'm sharing one of the fun projects we'll be creating at my Blendabilities class coming up on Wednesday, August 20!   See my TC Stamper Sampler Class Featuring Blendabilities post from yesterday for complete class details and sign up today

Class-To-Go Kits are available, and you can receive a FREE class kit when you purchase 4 or more Blendabilities Markers using the GQDEHG3D Hostess Code.  See details.

If you like to color, you're going to LOVE these markers, because they make your colored images come to life!  At the class, you'll learn tips for successful blending & shading, plus try out a variety of other fun techniques to add color and pizzazz to your papercrafting projects!

One of those fun techniques is Neon Colored Embossing!  Let's check out the project we'll be creating at the class…

Blendabilities Markers are designed to be fantastic tools for realistic coloring, blending and shading on stamped images, but they are so much more versatile than that!  Since they are alcohol-based markers, they are very similar to Sharpies in that you can permanent alter the color of all kinds of things!  On these cards, we're altering White Embossing to look like neon!  Kind of reminds me of Lite Brites…if you're old enough to remember those!  LOL!

Neon Colored Embossing Technique—I started by stamping the hand-drawn flower images from Flower Shop onto my 3-3/4" x 5" Basic Black card stock with VersaMark Ink, then heat embossing it with White Embossing Powder.

TIP: Don't forget to use the Embossing Buddy to eliminate finger oils and static from your card stock before stamping.  Those pesky little flakes of white sure like to show up dark card stock.

Then, simply draw over the top of the embossing powder with any Blendabilities Marker colors.  On this card, I used Daffodil Delight in the light and medium shades, Melon Mambo in the light shade and Pumpkin Pie in the light shade.

No need to worry about staying on the lines, the black card stock hides any overcoloring.

Colored Rhinestones—If you're a fan of my blog, then you already know how much I love altering Rhinestone Jewels with my Blendabilities.  I swear I love that more than the coloring images!  LOL!

TIP: I color the jewels while they are still on their package paper with the brush tip end.  Gently circle the jewel with the tip to avoid fraying the end of the marker nib.

Sweet Sentiment—I also embossed and colored a Yippee-Skippee greeting and added a colored jewel next to that.

Card Layers—I mounted my stamped layer onto a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Crushed Curry card stock, then adhered it to a Basic Black card base.

The second version adds a pop of Coastal Cabana on the bottom bloom.

This time the sentiment is from Geometrical.  Actually, I bet those triangles from Geometrical would look absolutely fabulous in some neon embossing.  Hmmm…I'll have to try that!
