My projects feature a gorgeous sketched flower from the Bloom With Hope Hostess stamp set.  It's the perfect line-image set for coloring with Blendabilities!  See what I mean…

Background Stamping Basics—I love the Hardwood background design behind this flower to make it more natural and rustic.  I stamped it in Crumb Cake ink directly onto the Crumb Cake card base. 

TIP: Lay your background stamp rubber-side-up on the table to ink it, then lay your card stock on top of it and burnish it to transfer the design.

Sentiment Layer—I stamped a Sassy Salutations greeting in Coastal Cabana onto a 2-1/2" x 3-1/4" piece of Whisper White.  I also added some of the Bloom With Hope leaf images, inked in Crumb Cake, coming out from the corner.

Banner—Before adhering it to the card base, I added a 1" x 4-1/2" Tangelo Twist banner for a pop of coordinating color.

Colored Pearls—The alcohol-based Blendabilities markers are permanent on Pearl Jewels, so I colored some coordinating accents to add some color balance to the card design.

Blended Bloom—I colored my Bloom With Hope flower with the Coastal Cabana and Pumpkin Pie 3-packs of Blendabiltities. 

Too Cool Blending TIPS—Here are the blending steps that worked best for me…

• Color over the entire small section with the brush tip of the lightest color.
• Add a thin outline of the darkest color in the areas you want shaded.
• Using the fine nib on the medium color marker, blend the dark outline into the lighter areas.
• Go over the entire area with the brush tip of the light color one more time to smooth the lines.
• Use the Color Lifter to "push away color" and accentuate some of the highlights.

It does take a little time to work all of the different layers of colors, but the results are so worth it!  The amount of depth and dimension you can achieve is spectacular and the images truly look stunning!

I also tried a flower in a Rich Razzleberry and Daffodil Delight color combination that turned out just as pretty!

My white layer is turned on the horizontal here.  I love that the variation of color on the flowers makes it easy to match with several similar colors.  For example, even though the flower center is Daffodil Delight, it still looks like it matches the Hello Honey card stock that I used for the banner.  Same with the Pumpkin Pie and Tangelo Twist colors in the first card.  No perfect match needed—more bang for your buck!
