Blooms & Bliss Window Box Treat Holders

Have you seen the adorable little hexagon boxes made with the Window Box Thinlits?! Oh my goodness! Such a fun shape and they really aren't that little at all! The finished box measures about 3-3/4" square and 1-7/8" high. I love the straight sides that allow you to stand the box up to show off it's pretty, decorated lid!

You can use the delightful Window Shopping stamp set to help decorate the box—save with the Window Shopping Bundle! We didn't use those on this project, but they make the box even more versatile with some awesome greetings and patterns!

Box Basics—To make the box, you simply cut out the big Window Box box framelit twice, trim off the end tabs on one of the die-cuts, and adhere together with Multipurpose Glue. You can see that in action in this Stampin' Up! Window Shopping Thinlits Video:

Window Box Lid—The intricate cuts on the box top are created with another die from the Window Box Thinlits set. I die-cut a piece of Pool Party, then used my Paper Snips to trim off the edges at the indentation that the die makes around the cuts. Then I adhered a 3-1/4" square piece of the Blooms & Bliss Designer Series Paper to the back of the die-cut, trimming around it again before attaching it to the top of the box. TIP: I sponged Multipurpose Glue onto the back of the die-cut layer for a quick & secure hold with glue seeping out from under the edges.

Finishing Touches—I stamped the greeting from Big on Birthdays in Tip Top Taupe onto a 3-1/2" x 3/4" piece of Very Vanilla, fishtailed the ends and popped it up with Dimensionals. I topped off the box with a Mint Macaron 3/8" Sheer Linen Ribbon bow, attached with a Glue Dot.

It's A Big Box!—You really can fit a lot of stuff in these boxes! We had 3 Hershey's Nuggets, but they didn't fill the box completely. I love the way the little tabs on the box and lid help to keep the box closed without needing a belly band or ribbon!

Two Cool—We had two versions for our table favors. This second box was made with Blushing Bride and it uses coordinating paper from the Blooms & Bliss DSP. The Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon was a perfect accent!
