Boho Indigo Such Happy News Cards

Hi Stamping Friends!

I was blessed to be able to have Shannon West, one of the Demonstrator Development Managers from Stampin' Up!, as a guest-speaker at my Stamp & Share team event a couple of weeks ago. She did a fantastic training with my team, which included sharing a few cards that she created with the Boho Indigo Product Medley.

Today, I'm sharing a couple of cards from my special Boho Indigo LIVE 12-card Class that were inspired by Shannon's Too Cool cards!

Boho indigo vanilla elements - such happy news 1

Boho Indigo Vanilla Planter Happy News Card

I love the Very Vanilla die-cuts against the beautiful Boho Indigo Designer Series Paper patterns on this front flap style card!

Card Basics—I cut a 7-1/4" x 5-1/2" Misty Moonlight card base, scored at the 3" mark for a shortened card front. I decorated the front flap with a 2-3/4" x 5-1/4" piece of Boho Indigo DSP. On the outer edge of the inside the of card, I added a 1-1/4" x 5-1/4" strip of coordinating DSP.

Focal Point—I adhered a 2-3/4" x 4" piece of Boho Indigo DSP to a 3" x 4-1/4" piece of Night of Navy cardstock, then popped it up with Dimensionals.  Next, I die-cut three leaves and the vase from Very Vanilla cardstock using the Boho Indigo dies from the medley. I stamped a little Night of Navy decorative image on the vase before adhering it.

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Boho Indigo sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink onto one of the Very Vanilla pre-printed die-cut labels and popped it up with Dimensionals.

Finishing Touches—I finished by tying a small bow with the gold thread from the Forever Greenery Trim Pack and attached it with a Glue Dot. The ends look fantastic with a bit of fraying.

Shannon's Cool Card—Here is the card that Shannon shared at our team event that inspired my Very Vanilla die-cuts card. It looks like she sponged Pool Party or Mint Macaron and Balmy Blue ink onto her DSP and layered it onto a Thick Very Vanilla cardstock base.

Boho Indigo Scrappy Strips Happy News Card

Don't throw away those small DSP scraps! I created this background with skinny strips of Boho Indigo Designer Series Paper.

Background Basics—I gathered up 3" x 1/2" strips of every pattern of Boho Indigo DSP, then laid them out alternating between the lighter and darker patterns. I started adhering in the center of the Mint Macaron card base, randomly overlapping and staggering the height for interest. By starting in the center and working toward the edges, you'll better be able to position the strips without running out of room or causing the design to be lopsided.

Lovely Label—Like the previous card, I stamped the Boho Indigo sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink onto one of the pre-printed gold labels from the medley and popped it up with Dimensionals.  I also added a pre-printed die-cut leaf and gold flower. I finished up by tying some Boho Indigo gold ribbon around the card front.

Shannon's Cool Card—This is Shannon's card that inspired my version. Her card has a Soft Sea Foam card base and a different gold label die-cut, adorned with the Night of Navy Frayed Grosgrain ribbon from the medley. Love it!
