Zany Zoo Wonderful "Grandmotherly" Cards
I had fun designing these two Zany Zoo cards that give me a "grandmotherly" feel. I colored the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper to look like wall paper, and selected images that reminded me of grandma.
Background Basics—I started by coloring a 4" x 3" piece of Zoo Crew DSP with Stampin' Blends in Lemon Lime Twist leaves and flowers in Fresh Freesia, Bubble Bath and Lemon Lolly. I mounted this "wall paper" onto a 4" x 4-1/2" piece of Bubble Bath cardstock. I tied some Black & White Ribbon around the layers into a double-knot, then mounted them onto a Fresh Freesia card base. I finished with a 4" x 1/2" strip of Basic Black at the bottom. The background gives me the feel of grandma's living room.
Lovely Llama—I stamped the Zany Zoo llama image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Basic White cardstock and colored her in with Stampin' Blends Markers. I used Bubble Bath for the chair, Fresh Freesia for the knitting and her eyelids, Lemon Lolly for her wool, Light Gray Granite for her legs and Light Pebbled Path for her hooves. I die-cut the image with the coordinating Zany Zoo dies and adhered it to a 2" x 3-1/4" piece of Basic White cardstock. I mounted that onto a Lemon Lolly Scalloped Contours rectangle and popped up with Dimensionals.
Amazing Accents—I created a little end table for grandma llama with the Zany Zoo Dies. I die-cut a Gray Granite table and decorated it with a Lemon Lime Twist vase with a Bubble Bath flower, all adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Zany Zoo sentiment in Memento Black onto a Basic White Zany Zoo banner die-cut. It's added with SEAL and Dimensionals.
Finishing Touches—I colored the Rhinestones with the Dark Highland Heather Stampin' Blends Marker, then sprinkled them around the card. I tried using the Dark Fresh Freesia marker, but it did not achieve a dark enough purple color.
Inside the Card—I added a 4" x 3/4" piece of DSP, colored to match the front, to a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White. Then, I hand-cut a sloth doing yoga from the Zoo Crew DSP and added him with SEAL. I do not include these DSP elements for the inside of the card in the LIVE Class Kit. So cute!
Two Cool—For my second version, I colored the wall paper with Parakeet Party, Bubble Bath and Coastal Cabana (with a Stampin' Write Marker, since there are no Coastal Cabana Blends). It's layered onto Soft Sea Foam cardstock and mounted onto a Parakeet Party card base.
Adorable Antelope—I cut this antelope directly from the Zoo Crew DSP. Like the knitting llama, this antelope, dressed in an apron and mixing up something in the kitchen, certainly had a grandmotherly feel. I fussy it the image, then layered it over a 2" x 1" piece of DSP that I thought represented some kitchen linoleum. I finished with a Bubble Bath stool that probably sits next to her kitchen island. The whole thing is layered onto a Coastal Cabana Scalloped Contours die-cut.
Finishing Touches—I finished with Rhinestone gems colored with a Dark Parakeet Party Stampin Blends Marker.
Inside The Card—Another fussy-cut image from the DSP…could it be Grandpa reading in the living room. I love it!
