Broadway Bound Make A Wish Cards

The fun marqueé images and die-cuts in this suite really help you put the spotlight on a special celebration!  This look is all about layering elements to create something spectacular!  All of the stamped & die-cut pieces are designed to coordinate perfectly and come together easily!  I love how my first cards with this set turned out!

Background Basics—I started with a 4-1/4" x 11" piece of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, scored and folded at the 5-1/2" mark.  I used the Broadway Lights Framelits to add a strip of sparkle diamond cut-outs along the bottom border.  Then I added a 4-1/4" x 1" strip of the black & gold striped Broadway Bound Designer Series Specialty Paper just above the diamonds for a beautiful shiny border.

Inside The Card—I wanted black to show through the diamond cut-out shapes, so I layered a 4" x 1" strip of Basic Black cardstock on the inside of the card.  I love that awesome cut border!

Marvelous Marqueé—I created all of my pieces and layers before assembling them together to get the spacing just right. First, I die-cut the marqueé in Gold Foil using the Broadway Lights Framelits.  I laid that over a 3" x 3" piece of Whisper White cardstock to help me position the Broadway Birthday "make a" part of the image.  I stamped those words in Memento Tuxedo Black.  Next, I stamped the birthday greeting at the bottom of the white layer in black ink, too.  That layer is matted onto a 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" piece of Basic Black cardstock, the mounted onto the card front with SNAIL adhesive.  I added the marqueé over the top with some Multipurpose Glue.

Finishing Touches—I stamped the Broadway Birthday "wish" word in Lemon Lime Twist ink onto a 3-3/4" x 1" strip of Whisper White. After fishtailing the ends, I popped up the banner over the marqueé with some Dimensionals.  I stamped the balloon circle in Lovely Lipstick and the balloon string in Memento Black onto Whisper White scrap, then die-cut both shapes with the Broadway Lights Framelits. I attached the string onto the bottom of the balloon with a Glue Dot, then adhered the balloon to the card front using Dimensionals under the balloon and Multipurpose Glue under the string.  I finished by adding a couple of new Gold Pearls.

Two Cool—I stepped up the second card a little bit for a little more show-stopping pizzazz!  I started with the Lovely Lipstick card base.

Shiny Diamonds—This time, I added a 4" x 1" strip of Gold Foil on the inside of the card, so the pretty gold would shine through the die-cut diamonds.  I LOVE this detail!  Don't you?

Broadway Lights—I kept the same color combination for the focal point, but this time, I used the coordinating dotted stamp to add black "lights" to the "wish."  OOOoohhh!  How fun is that?
