Build A Birthday Front-Fold Cards—I finally had the opportunity to play with some of the new products! My first project was a fun, masculine birthday card using the new Build A Birthday photopolymer stamp set! I made these for my New Catalog Swap at our team event!

I love how fun and easy it is to build a colorful cake with the new Build A Birthday set!

Background Basics—Although this looks like a traditional card at first, it actually opens a little differently than a regular card. The Basic Black card base is simply a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2", quarter sheet of card stock, layered with a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Pacific Point. It's the center, focal-point layer is the part that folds up to become the inside of the card.

I added a 1/2" x 4-1/8" strip of Black striped paper from the Neutrals Collection Designer Series Paper Stack for a trendy, background accent.

Front-Flap Basics—I started with a 3-1/4" x 9" piece of Basic Black card stock. Then, I scored it at the 4-1/2" mark and rounded the bottom corners with the Corner Rounder Punch before adhering it with SNAIL to the card base.

Building The Cake—The focal point layer (as well as the inside layer) is a 3-1/8" x 4-3/8" piece of Whisper White with the bottom corners rounded. The stamp set makes it super-easy to build the cake! I started with the cake pedestal in Pool Party, then stamped the stacked layers in Pacific Point, Wisteria Wonder and Bermuda Bay inks.

I topped off the cake with the flags image in Pear Pizzazz and added a birthday greeting across the pedestal in Memento Black Ink.

Pop-Up Cake—I stamped each of the cake layers a second time on scrap card stock, then cut them out and popped them up with Dimensionals. A Black Baker's Twine bow, adhered with Multipurpose Glue, and few Rhinestone Jewels finish the cake décor.

Make It Coordinate—One of the things I like most about this stamp set is that you can easily make the cake layers coordinate with your packaging colors! I love it when things match!

Two Cool—I created a second card and changed up the background color to Bermuda Bay.

The cake layers are in a different color order, too. For the striped background accent, I adhered two strips of the retired Stacked With Love Washi Tape. You can find a similar look in with the new Everyday Chic Washi Tape, I just don't have that in my hands yet!
