Bundle of Love Elegant Gold Christmas Cards
The Bundle of Love Designer Series Paper pack is a lot more versatile than meets the eye! Although it's designed to be for baby projects with pink and blue on one side, the other sides have gorgeous gold foil patterns that work for ANY occasion! I couldn't wait to try it for elegant Christmas cards! We have so many coordinating metallic products right now that are fun to mix & match! And, they are so trendy, too!
Background Basics—I started by cutting two each of two Bundle of Love DSP patterns measuring 1-3/4" x 1-3/4". I adhered them onto a 3-3/4" square of Gold Foil and, after embossing the sentiment (more about that below), I mounted the layers onto a Very Vanilla card base.
Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Hearts Come Home greeting in VersaMark ink onto the bottom of the card base, sprinkled on some Gold Embossing Powder over it and heated it with a Heat Tool until glossy & smooth.
TIPS: Rub the Embossing Buddy over the card base first to eliminate any static or finger oils that the embossing powder might stick to. If the card base warps a little bit with the heat, simply smooth it out with a Bone Folder once it's cooled. I used regular Very Vanilla card stock, but there may be less warping with the Thick Very Vanilla card stock.
Snowflake—I stamped the Flurry of Wishes medium snowflake image in VersaMark onto a 2-5/8" Very Vanilla circle cut with the Layering Circles Framelits. It's embossed it with Gold Embossing Powder, too, then popped up over the squares with Dimensionals. That snowflake image looks AMAZING embossed—LOVE it!
I finished the card by adding a single Pearl Jewel in the center of the snowflake and attaching a Very Vanilla Metallic Edge Satin bow undernearth with a Glue Dot. Gorgeousness!
Two Cool—I tried another card using a similar background and different stamp set. This time, I cut 1-7/8" x 2-1/2" panels of the Bundle of Love DSP to cover the entire card front. Then, I layered a 1-1/2" x 5" Gold Foil banner down the center to provide a foundation for the focal point.
Reindeer—I stamped the Santa's Sleigh reindeer image in VersaMark onto a Very Vanilla Stitched Shapes oval die-cut, and heat-embossed it in Gold Embossing Powder. It's popped up with Dimensionals. I added a 1/8" Gold Ribbon bow to adorn the reindeer's neck. Cute!
Sweet Sentiment—I finished the card by stamping part of the greeting in VersaMark onto a 1/2" strip of Very Vanilla and embossing it. I fish-tailed the ends of the banner and added a couple of Pearl Jewels on either side. It's popped up, too! TIP: Rather than trying to ink up only part of the greeting, I actually cut the greeting apart. Because it's photopolymer, it's easy to fit the pieces back together on an acrylic block if I want to stamp the whole phrase next time.
