Today, I'm sharing my final Butterfly Basics Class project.

Butterfly basics apothecary - two cool

While Butterfly Basics lends itself to being a collage-style stamp set, I really enjoy using the beautiful images for non-collage style cards, too!  There are so many great stand-alone elements!  I love how both of these cards turned out, and the best part is…class participants will get to make both versions, since we are creating two cool versions of each design!

Butterfly basics apothecary - wishes

Background Basics—I started this card with a Baked Brown Sugar card base.  Then I embossed a 4-1/4" x 4" piece of Lost Lagoon card stock with the Spring Flowers Embossing Folder.  After matting it on a 4-1/4" square piece of Blackberry Bliss, I tied some Gold Baker's Twine around it for a little shimmer.  You'll receive a full pack of this twine in your kit!

Apothecary Accent—I stamped the pretty flower image in Pear Pizzazz onto a Very Vanilla Apothecary Accent Framelit die-cut shape.  It's popped up with Dimensionals over the twine.

Sweet Sentiment & Butterfly—I stamped the sentiment from the set in Blackberry Bliss over the top of the flower stems.  Then, I stamped the tiny butterfly in Lost Lagoon onto Very Vanilla and punched it out with the coordinating Bitty Butterfly punch.  A couple Pearl Jewels on the butterfly body are a must!  Remember to adhere the center of the butterfly with a Glue Dot, so you can bend the wings upward.

Two Cool—For the second version, I had to change the look a bit to make it work, but I love how it turned out!

Butterfly basics apothecary - happy 4

Horizontal Flowers—I started by stamping the longer sentiment, so I knew what space I had to work with for the flowers.  Then I stamped the flower image several times along the bottom.  Pretty!

Butterfly basics apothecary - happy 3

Double Layer Butterfly—I love the look of the layered butterfly!  The larger shape is stamped in Baked Brown Sugar, then die-cut with the Butterfly Thinlits and popped up with Dimensionals.
