One of the cool dies in the Brilliant Wings die set is a brick cut-out and it looks amazing paired with the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossed texture. I CASEd this card from Deb Snyder and her card is featured below.
Background Basics—The card begins with a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" quarter-sheet of Misty Moonlight card stock and is topped with a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Just Jade. The actual card is a 10" x 3-3/4" piece of Basic White that's scored at the 5" mark.
Brick Textures—Before mounting the card onto the card base, I die-cut a brick cut-out on the inside bottom of the card with the Brilliant Wings die. Next, I ran the card through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine again with the Brick & Mortar Folder lined up with the top of the card, positioned just above the score line. TIP: Be sure that you have the card front facing the correct way in the folder so that the bricks are embossed rather than "de-bossed." I mounted the die-cut and embossed card onto the card base with SEAL.
Collage Décor Foundation—I added a 1-1/2" x 3-3/4" piece of the new Natural Touch Specialty Paper to the card front with SEAL Adhesive to start the collage. Next, I die-cut a piece of butterfly patterned Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper with the large Stitched Shapes circle and added that with SEAL.
Sweet Sentiment Layer—I stamped the Art Gallery Sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a Pool Party Stitched Shapes circle die-cut. I added some SEAL adhesive to the back of the circle, then folded a piece of Misty Moonlight Twill Ribbon behind it. I popped it up with Dimensionals and added it to the card front.
Finishing Touches—I die-cut a pre-printed butterfly from the Butterfly Bijou DSP with the Brilliant Wings die and attached that to the circle with SEAL. I finished up with a couple of Just Jade In Color Enamel Dots to balance the collage. Perfect!
Two Cool—This card is the awesome swap card that I received from Deb Snyder that prompted me to make my card. I LOVED her card so much!
Background Basics—Deb's card begins with a Daffodil Delight card base and a Just Jade background layer.
Bitty Bricks—Deb actually cut out windows from her Just Jade layer, so that the Daffodil Delight cardstock would show through her Brilliant Wings brick cut-outs.
Cute Collage—Deb added a Stitched Shapes circle of DSP for her collage foundation. The smaller Stitched Shapes circle is in Mint Macaron and she added an embossed sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings. She stamped the greeting in VersaMark ink, sprinkled on White Embossing Powder and heat-set it with a Heat Tool until glossy and smooth. She added Just Jade In Color Twill Ribbon behind it.
Finishing Touches—I love Deb's layered butterfly! She die-cut a Daffodil Delight solid butterfly and layered a Basic White intricate butterfly on top of it with a Glue Dot. It's attached to the circle with SEAL and topped with a single Rhinestone Jewel. Thanks for sharing, Deb Snyder!
