Butterfly Brilliance Emerging Butterfly Cards
This cool, interactive card design is sure to impress it's recipient! As soon as I saw the new Butterfly Brilliance stamp set, I knew that I wanted to make one of these awesome cards! The first Calypso Coral card will be part of the LIVE Class Kit, so you can have fun creating it, too!
Background Basics—I began the card by stamping the Butterfly Brilliance stamp in Calypso Coral onto the right side of a Calypso Coral card base.
Criss-Cross—I stamped the Happy Thoughts greeting in Basic Gray ink onto a 5-1/2" x 1" strip of Natural Touch Specialty Paper…on the back, non-textured side. It's adhered to the bottom of the card front, then another 1" x 4-1/4" strip of Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper is adhered down the side.
Emerging Butterfly—I punched a slot in the card front with the Classic Label Punch. I lined up the edge of the punch with the card's score line and pushed the cardstock all the way into the punch. Next, I stamped the Butterfly Brilliance image in Memento Black ink and die-cut it with the Brilliant Wings dies. It's colored in with Mango Melody, Flirty Flamingo, Calypso Coral and Gray Granite Stampin' Blends Markers, then brushed with Wink of Stella glimmer for some amazing shimmer!
I folded the butterfly in half, then adhered the butterfly with three Glue with it's body in the center of the slot. This medium-size butterfly from the bundle fits perfectly!
Peek-A-Boo Butterfly—When you open the card, the butterfly is pulled through the slot and it emerges on the inside of the card. I also added some Coral colored Artistry Blooms Sequins around the sentiment and butterfly.
Inside The Card—You'll want to finish the inside of the card before you attach the butterfly through the slot. Here, I stamped off Calypso Coral ink from the Butterfly Brilliance image and stamped it onto the right side of a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Basic White. I also added a 1" x 4" strip of Calypso Coral cardstock as a foundation for the butterfly, so that the Calypso Coral color, and not white, would show through the slot.
Two Cool—I stamped the Butterfly Brilliance image in Night of Navy ink onto a Night of Navy card base this time.
Sweet Sentiment—The birthday greeting is stamped in Night of Navy ink onto a strip of Pool Party cardstock. I added a strip of coordinating Butterfly Bijou DSP along the side.
Emerging Butterfly—This one is colored with Bermuda Bay, Night of Navy and Pool Party Blends Markers. I finished by adding some Pool Party Artistry Blooms Sequins around the card front.
Don't forget that you could also use the same size pre-printed butterfly images die-cut from the Butterfly Bijou DSP.
Inside—I stamped the Butterfly Brilliance image in stamped off Pool Party ink this time and added a Night of Navy foundation strip.
