I thought it was only appropriate to share some Butterfly Thinlit cards today!  Peggy shared two cool Butterfly cards at our team meeting using these gorgeous dies!

Peggy - butterfly & scallop mask copy

Scalloped Mask Background—Peggy created a lovely background for her butterfly with a masking technique. There are actually two ways to get this scallop design: by using the Striped Scallop Thinlit or by using the scallop mask from the Hooray It's Your Day Card Kit.  Lay the mask over the 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock and either sponge or spritz on the Crumb Cake color, then adhere to the Crumb Cake card base.

Color Spritz TIP: Add some rubbing alcohol and a few drops of Refill Ink to a Stampin' Spritzer bottle to create your fast-drying spritzing mixture.

Beautiful Butterfly—Peggy die-cut the butterfly with the Butterfly Thinlits from Gold Foil.  Looks like she hand-cut another butterfly shape from Gold Soiree Designer Series Paper using the Thinlit as a template for the shape.  Love that layering!

Finishing Touches—She unraveled some gold thread from the Gold Baker's Twine for some tinsel accents and added some Old Olive leaves, die-cut from the retired Secret Garden Framelits, behind the butterfly.  The sentiment is from the retired Good Greetings set.

Peggy - butterfly & vellum copy

Background Basics—Peggy used a combination of fun elements for the background.  She stamped the splotch shape from Work of Art (wood) in Pear Pizzazz four times to resemble the butterfly shape on the 5-1/8" x 3-7/8" piece of Whisper White.  She used the large dots from the Sale-A-Bration Best Day Ever stamp set in Wisteria Wonder.  The layer is adhered to a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Old Olive then wrapped with retired Wisteria Wonder Baker's Twine, but you could substitute Old Olive Baker's Twine.

Butterfly Focal Point—This time the butterfly die-cut is in Wisteria Wonder and she used the smaller die from the Butterfly Thinlits to cut the Vellum layer.  They are adhered to a Champagne Glimmer Paper banner.  Looks like she punched some Champagne Glimmer Paper with a 1/8" Punch to make dots to create the body.  So pretty!
