By The Bay Front Flap Cards Here's a cool fun-fold card that is similar in look to a "Joy Fold" card, but it's assembled just a little differently. I loved using it with the By The Bay suite to showcase the Seaside Bay stamped images, as well as some of that beautiful By The Bay Designer Series Paper!
Background Basics—The card base is a two-parter in Mint Macaron cardstock: 7-1/4" x 5-/2", scored at the 4-1/4" mark on the long side and 3-1/2" x 3", scored at the 1/2" mark on the long side. I decorated the shortened front with a 2-3/4" x 5-1/4" piece of By The Bay DSP, then tied some Balmy Blue Variegated Ribbon around the panel.
Inside The Card—I stamped the two Seaside Bay shell images in Balmy Blue ink onto a 1-1/4" x 5-1/4" piece of Balmy Blue cardstock, then mounted it down the edge of a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White cardstock. Before adhering it to the inside of the card, I attached the 1/2" tab from the front flap piece to the back of the card with SEAL Adhesive, then mounted it all onto the card base. This smaller flap panel will overlap the other side of the card front when it's closed.
Sandy Scene—I stamped the Seaside Bay sentiment in Night of Navy onto a 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" piece of Basic White, positioned about half-way down the piece and flush with the right side. Next, I stamped the sandy image with shells in Crumb Cake ink at the bottom of the piece. I filled in the rest of the bottom with the sandy spotted image, stamping over and over until the area was filled.
Beach Elements—I stamped the sandy shell image a second time in Balmy Blue ink onto scrap Basic White, then die-cut the shells with the coordinating Seaside Bay Dies. I popped those up with Mini Dimensionals over the original stamped shells. Next, I stamped the large Seaside Bay bird in Night of Navy ink onto Basic White. It's colored in with some Light Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends Markers, die-cut and popped up onto the flap. I finished with a couple Iridescent Pearls above the sentiment.
Supplies for this card will be included in the 5-Card LIVE Class Kit.
Two Cool—My second version has a Granny Apple Green card base, along with a different By The Bay DSP pattern on front. I kept the same ribbon and same Balmy Blue stamped layer along the inside.
Beachy Birds—I chose a different sentiment for this one and instead of the shells at the bottom, I added a couple of the birds from the bird trio image. Like the large bird, they are stamped in Night of Navy and colored with Stampin' Blends Markers: Light Crumb Cake, Light Balmy Blue and Light Soft Sea Foam. I really love how this color combination turned out with the white on the breast, but you can really get creative on how you color them.
Inside The Card—I added the extra bird to the inside of the card…so cute!
