Background Basics—I love the pop of color against the neutral Crumb Cake on this card!  It starts with a 5-1/2" x 1-3/4" strip of the Balmy Blue pattern of Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper, adhered to a Crumb Cake card base.  I tied Braided Linen Trim around the card front, tying it into a double-knot and fraying the ends.

A Gaggle of Gulls—I stamped the By The Bay seagulls image in Early Espresso ink across a 4" x 3" piece of Whisper White.  I started with the center image first, then stamped the image on either side.  Then, I used the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to color the image.  You can use it just like a Blender Pen!  I put a couple of drops of Balmy Blue Refill Ink onto an acrylic block for my palette, then picked up a little bit of ink with the Wink of Stella brush and painted on the color.

TIP: You could squeeze the ink pad to transfer the ink to the lid to use as a palette, however, you'll need to wipe off the lid when you're done so you don't contaminate your ink pad with Wink of Stella shimmer.  Do NOT touch the Wink of Stella brush directly to your ink pad or you will contaminate your pad with shimmer.

TIP: Instead of refill ink on an acrylic block, you could use a Styrofoam plate, embellishment container, a Zip-lock bag, an actual watercolor palette or a similar non-porous surface.

After coloring all of the water, I wiped the brush across scrap paper until it ran "clear" again, then switched to Crumb Cake to color in the birds.  So easy and sparkly! This photo looks like there's beautiful sunlight glistening like diamonds on the water!  Love it!

TIP: If you're doing a lot of shimmer watercoloring, I recommend dedicating a Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to just this technique, so you don't risk getting residual colored shimmer when you don't want it!

I mounted the stamped layer onto a 4-1/4" x 3-1/4" piece of Balmy Blue cardstock and popped it up with Dimensionals.

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the By The Bay sentiment in Early Espresso ink onto Whisper White, then punched it with the 1" Circle Punch and adhered it to a Crumb Cake scallop circle die-cut with the Layering Circles Framelits.  It's also popped up.

Two Cool—On the second card, I flipped the gingham DSP to the other side with the wider checked pattern and adhered it to the bottom of the card front.

Quaint Cottage—I stepped up this card by stamping the more detailed By The Bay seaside cottage image and coloring it with additional colors.  The image was stamped with Early Espresso ink then colored the sea with Balmy Blue, the cottage with Crumb Cake, the grass and trees with Pear Pizzazz and the stone with Smoky Slate inks.

TIP: It looks more like watercolor when you don't color the whole image, leaving some white and lighter areas around the edges. The coloring on the house is a great example of this look.

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the By The Bay phrase in Early Espresso in the upper right corner before mounting onto the Balmy Blue layer.
