Seaside bay three birds beach - two cool

By The Bay Three Birds Beach Cards

There is so much versatility in the By The Bay Designer Series Paper pack patterns. I love the two watercolor-style landscapes that look like a beachy oceanfront. I kept my seaside scene simple, but you could easily add more layers of die-cut and stamped grasses and shells. It's so fun to experiment with collage layers!

Background Basics—I started by adhering a 2" x 5-1/2" piece of By The Bay DSP down the side of a Soft Suede card base. Next, I stamped the Seaside Bay sentiment in Night of Navy onto the 2-3/4" x 3-3/4" piece of DSP with the dark oceanfront look. It's layered onto a 2-7/8" x 3-7/8" piece of Night of Navy. I adhered a little folded tab of Natural Finish Ribbon on the backside at the top left, then popped up the layer onto a 3-1/4" x 4-1/4" piece of Sahara Sand cardstock with Dimensionals. It's mounted onto the card front with SEAL Adhesive.

Bird Trio—I die-cut a large Crumb Cake grassy shape with the Seaside Bay Dies and adhered it with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Next, I stamped the large bird and small trio of birds from the Seaside Bay set in Soft Suede ink onto Basic White, then die-cut them with the coordinating dies. I colored them with Stampin' Blends Markers: Light Soft Suede for the darker feathers and Light Crumb Cake for the lighter feathers. I popped the large bird and two of the smaller ones up with Dimensionals above the sentiment. I finished with a few Flat Adhesive-Backed Pearls for some shiny beach elements.

Don't forget to use that third little bird on the inside of the card!

Two Cool—For my second version, I changed the By The Bay DSP to one with a gold foil shell pattern and adhered it to a Basic White Thick card base. I chose a lighter beachy DSP, layered onto a Balmy Blue mat. I wrapped some Gold & Vanilla Satin Ribbon around the Sahara Sand layer for another gold element.

Beachy Birds—These birds are stamped with Gray Granite and colored with Crumb Cake and Balmy Blue Blends Markers. I added a gold foil grassy element and two gold Festive Pearls to finish the gold theme. The sentiment is stamped in Gray Granite onto a Stylish Shapes die-cut banner.
