Hi Stamping Friends!

My Too Cool Demo Team had a birthday card swap at our meeting Monday and today I wanted to share two of the cards I received, both featuring the Work of Art (wood) stamp set.

Work of art 134111G

I absolutely adore the Work of Art (wood) set because its elements are so very versatile!  Today's projects exemplify that fact for sure!

The first card is created by Janet Shinn and she used the Work of Art images to create pretty patterns on several layers. The elements in the set complement each other so beautifully.

Background Basics—The dot design is stamped with Strawberry Slush ink for a fun polka dot background on a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Whisper White, which is layered on a piece of 4" x 5-1/4" Lost Lagoon card stock.  I love this color combo!

She also used the chevron element in Lost Lagoon on the 3 x 3-7/8" Whisper White layer, mounted on 3-1/4" x 4-1/8 Strawberry Slush.

Trio of Banners—The top banner, die-cut with the Banners Framelits, is stamped with another Work of Art element in Lost Lagoon, Strawberry Slush and Pink Pirouette inks, and I would bet that they were stamped off once to make them a little lighter.  The sentiment, also from Work of Art, is stamped over the top in Memento Black ink

The two other banners, die-cut with smaller dies from the Banners Framelits, are created with the "back sides" of double-sided Designer Papers from the Flowerpot and Confetti Celebration packs.  I didn't recognize which packs either one of these papers came from at first, which goes to show you how underrated some of those designer patterns can be.

Janet wrapped up the top layer with some retired Baja Breeze Seam Binding.  Sweet!

CASEd from Sandi MacIver at Stampin' With Sandi.

Carmen DeBruce created another Work of Art card with a completely different look!  Her card uses the elements to create Impressionistic looking flowers, so soft and pretty!

Background Basics—The card starts with a Coastal Cabana card base, and the card front is textured with the Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder.

Delightful Daisy—Carmen stamped one of the splotch elements around a center point first in Pistachio Pudding ink for the leaves, then in Coastal Cabana ink to create the look of a flower.  She finished pulling it together with a single black dot image.  Two partial flowers fit nicely on her 4-3/8" x 3-1/8" piece of Whisper White, which is matted on a 4-1/2" x 3-1/4" Basic Black layer.

Butterflies Accents—Although the flowers would look great by themselves, Carmen felt that the card needed a little something extra, so she added some butterflies.  She punched one with the Elegant Butterfly Punch and one with the Bitty Butterfly Punch from Whisper White, then sponged the edges with Coastal Cabana ink.  They are attached with Dimensionals and adorned with Rhinestone Jewels.

Sweet Sentiment—The Fabulous Four (wood) birthday sentiment finishes off the card.
