Carols of Christmas Deck The Halls Ornament Trio Cards
Oh what fun! The Carols of Christmas bundle is jam-packed with all the elements you need to create an awesome variety of Christmas cards and holiday projects! I LOVE the fancy, peek-thru frame die to give that special elegant touch to, not only holiday cards, but cards for any special occasion! Let's take a closer look!
Background Basics—I used the Card Front Builder Thinlit die to create the beautiful decorative border. The "U-shaped" die cuts the half of the border at a time, so I ran the 4" x 5-1/4" Whisper White layer through the Big Shot with it on the top for one pass, then on the bottom for a second pass. It's pretty easy to align the die by simply lining up the pair of dots next to each other.
The die is designed to be used on a 4" x 5-1/4" layer and will go right up to the edge. However, you could shorten the border by overlapping the dots or even the lines, so it's possible to die-cut smaller layers as well! Too Cool!
Before adhering the die-cut layer to the Tranquil Tide card base with SNAIL, I stamped the trio of ornaments in Memento Black ink about 1/2" above the border.
Ornament Trio—I stamped the ornament trio stamp in both Cherry Cobbler and Tranquil Tide inks onto scrap Whisper White card stock, then used the Card Front Builder dies to die-cut them all out. I love that I don't have to hand-cut those tiny images! I popped up the ornaments with Mini Dimensionals and added small Rhinestone Jewels to the centers. I'm loving the combination of Tranquil Tide and Cherry Cobbler for Christmas this year! Too Cool!
Sweet Sentiment—The Carols of Christmas sentiments take front & center stage on these cards! I stamped the "deck the halls" phrase in Cherry Cobbler onto a 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" piece of Whisper White, then layered it onto a 3" square of Basic Black. I stamped the center "the" again in Tranquil Tide ink onto a scrap of Whisper White, then hand-cut it and popped it up with Mini Dimensionals over the original image. The whole layer is mounted onto the card front with Dimensionals.
I finished off the card with a simple 1/8" Silver Ribbon bow, attached with a Glue Dot.
Two Cool—My second card has more of a traditional Christmas color combination with Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler.
