Hi Stamping Friends!

I'm loving the Carols of Christmas bundle so much that I've decided to do a whole series of projects with that set for the rest of the week!

Today, I was inspired by a project that Stampin' Up! created as a sample for the early release promotion.  I CASEd that card, which I originally posted on August 2, and I did a "two cool" version, as well!  I've shared all the details below and hope you like them!

Carols of Christmas Peace on Earth Peeking Deer Cards

If you're looking for a quick & easy Christmas card that still provides lots of detail and interest, this is a fantastic design to CASE!  I love layered cards like this that are still easy to mass-produce!  I just may have to make this one of the holiday cards I send out this year!

Background Basics—I used Thick Whisper White card stock for the base of this card to give it extra-stability.  It's cut so it opens vertically: 4-1/4" x 11" and scored at 5-1/2".  I added a 4-1/4" x 2-3/4" piece of paper from the Be Merry Designer Series Paper on the bottom of the card front with SNAIL.  Next, I added a 4-1/4" x 1/2" strip of Gold Glimmer Paper along the top of the DSP.

Terrific Trees—The trees were die-cut from Old Olive card stock using the Card Front Builder Thinlits. The set has dies for a single tree and a pair of trees, and I cut both.  They are adhered to the top of the card front with SNAIL.

Deer Details—I tied some Cherry Cobbler Double-Stitched Ribbon around the card front into a double-knot for a bold accent.  The deer image comes from Carols of Christmas and is stamped in Soft Suede and die-cut with the Card Front Builder dies, too.  He looks like he's standing off in the distance…so cute!

Peaceful Focal Point—I inked up the Carols of Christmas sentiment using markers: Garden Green for "peace," Old Olive for "on" and Cherry Cobbler for "earth."  After coloring the ink onto the rubber with the brush-tip end, I huffed on the stamp to re-moisten it and stamped it onto Whisper White.  It's die-cut using the Stitched Shapes circle die, then popped up with Dimensionals.

I still love the stitching effect on the die-cuts from that set…and they look exceptional with holiday projects!  A true must-have die set for your collection!

Two Cool—I tried the same card design with a blue/green twist!  This time, I used a Dapper Denim pattern from the Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper, topped with a strip of Silver Glimmer Paper.

This time, I wrapped Emerald Envy Striped Grosgrain Ribbon around the card base.  Oooh, I like Emerald Envy for a Christmas green!  The sentiment is colored with Dapper Denim, Old Olive & Emerald Envy markers.  It's a refreshing twist on holiday colors!  LOVE!!!!
