Carols of Christmas Metallic Accents - two cool

Carols of Christmas with Silver & Gold Cards

The big, bold sentiments from the Carols of Christmas stamp set looks fabulous with metallic accents!  Take a look!  We'll be creating the Cherry Cobbler version at our class on Thursday!

Carols of Christmas Metallic Accents - cherry gold

CASEd from Anne Brown at Stamp Maven.

Background Basics—I embossed the 5-1/2" x 2" Tranquil Tide layer with the Holly Texture Impressions Folder.  Next, I used Tear & Tape to adhere the two 5-1/2" x 1" Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate strips to the top and bottom of that embossed layer.  I love this acetate!  One side is gold and one side is silver!  Cool!  Be sure to remove the protective plastic liner from the silver side…it's easy to overlook!

Sensational Satin—I adhered those layers to the Cherry Cobber card base, then wrapped some of the 3/8" Metallic Edge Satin Ribbon around the card front and tied it into a double-knot.  Oh my…this ribbon is so fabulous!  There are two styles: Very Vanilla satin with a gold edge and Whisper White satin with a silver edge. It's gorgeous and ties beautifully!

Seasonal Sentiment—I stamped the Carols of Christmas phrase in Cherry Cobbler ink onto 3-1/2" x 2-1/2" Very Vanilla card stock, then matted it onto a 3-5/8" x 2-5/8" piece of Gold Foil.  It's popped up onto the card front with Dimensionals.

Finishing Touches—I finished the look by stamping Carols of Christmas poinsettias in Cherry Cobbler and leaves in Tranquil Tide onto Very Vanilla scraps.  The Card Front Builder dies make it easy to cut out the festive flowers.  They are attached to the card with Glue Dots.

Two Cool—My second version features a completely different color combination.  The Holly embossed layer is in Emerald Envy this time and the card base is Dapper Denim.  For accents, I used the silver side of the Fabulous Foil Acetate and tried the White/Silver Metallic Edge Ribbon without the knot showing.

Focal Point—I colored the sentiment with Dapper Denim, Real Red and Emerald Envy markers before stamping onto Whisper White card stock.  I used Silver Foil for a coordinating mat.  Finally, I stamped the flowers in Real Red and leaves in Emerald Envy.  What a fun, fresh color combination for the holidays!
