Sweet Overlapped Varied Vases Cards
I adore this sweet new stamp set so very much! You can purchase it in a bundle along with the coordinating Vase Builder Punch, but these projects show how awesome the vases look without being punched out! And those new colors…so bright and striking! Absolutely delightful!
Inspired by Mary Fish at Stampin' Pretty.
Background Basics—I started by embossing a 1-1/4" x 5-1/2" strip of the returning Poppy Parade cardstock with the floral Petal Pair Texture Impressions Folder. It's adhered onto a new Gray Granite card base using Tear & Tape Adhesive for a secure hold.
Terrific Two-Step—Each part of the focal point is created by stamping the outline image first in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then stamping the solid coordinating stamp to fill in the color. It takes a lot of stamps, but don't let that intimidate you! It's not hard to line them up and it looks so amazing when it's finished!
Here is the order I stamped the images on the 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" piece of Whisper White:
- Stamp the scallop shelf outline image in Black; stamp the fill-in solid image in returning Poppy Parade.
- Stamp the small vase outline image in Black; stamp the fill-in solid vase image in new Highland Heather ink.
- Stamp the taller vase outline image in Black, overlapping the vases a little; stamp the fill-in solid vase image in new Mango Melody ink.
- Stamp the 2-flower outline image in Black in the small vase; stamp the fill-in solid vase image in Poppy Parade.
- Stamp the multi-flower outline image in Black in the tall vase; stamp the fill-in solid vase image in Highland Heather.
Finishing Touches—I stamped the Varied Vases sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink next to the vases, then mounted the layer onto a 3-5/8" x 3-5/8" piece of the new Gorgeous Grape cardstock. It's popped up onto the card front with Dimensionals. I added some Wink of Stella to the flowers for a little eye-catching shimmer. Finally, I added a Linen Thread bow, attached with a Glue Dot.
Two Cool—This second version is the one we'll be creating at the "Last Thursdays" Retirement Party. The Gorgeous Grape panel is embossed with the vine Petal Pair Texture Impressions Folder.
Two-Stepping—I stamped three overlapping vases on this card and layered it onto a 3-5/8" x 3-5/8" piece of Balmy Blue:
- Stamp the scallop shelf outline image in Black; stamp the fill-in solid image in returning Gorgeous Grape.
- Stamp the taller vase outline image in Black; stamp the fill-in solid vase image in returning Coastal Cabana ink.
- Stamp the small vase outline image in Black; stamp the fill-in solid vase image in new Highland Heather ink.
- Stamp the medium vase outline image in Black; stamp the fill-in solid vase image in new Balmy Blue ink.
- Stamp the bunch of flowers outline image in Black in the tall vase; stamp the fill-in solid vase image in Balmy Blue.
- Stamp the multi-flower outline image in Black in the small vase; stamp the fill-in solid vase image in Gorgeous Grape.
Finishing Touches—I stamped the Varied Vases sentiment onto a 2" x 1/2" strip of Coastal Cabana, fishtailed the left end and popped it up onto the focal point layer. This time I tied a double-bow with Linen Thread.

I love the cards with the vases – I will be CASEing these eventually. They are totally something I would create if I had my creative thinking hat on. I think I sent it to the cleaners and they shrunk it! Of course, I gotta get the bundle too.
