Are you ready for a cool, fun-fold card? I had never seen this style of card until recently when I received a similar swap card from Susie Wood. This is my take on her card, which I've shared below.
Background Basics—Let's start by giving the measurements for how to construct this two-part Double-Z Gate Fold card. The card base is a quarter sheet of Misty Moonlight cardstock, measuring 5-1/2" x 4-1/4". The second part is a 11" x 4" piece of Misty Moonlight that's scored along the 11" side at the 2", 3-3/4" x 7-1/4" and 9" marks.
Assembling the Card—I adhered 1" x 4" pieces of In Good Taste Designer Series Paper to each end of the quarter-sheet card base, leaving a small border. Next, I folded the long piece into a double-Z gate-fold like you see in the photo above. Use a Bone Folder to give each score line a good crease. Be sure to use a strong adhesive, like SEAL+, Tear & Tape or Liquid Multipurpose Glue to mount the back of the z-fold to the base.
Decorating The Gate-Fold—I stamped the small Celebrate Sunflowers image in Gray Granite all over a 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" piece of Whisper White. I colored the flowers in with Stampin' Blends Markers; Light Daffodil Delight and Light Mango Melody for the petals, Gray Granite for the flower centers and Soft Sea Foam for the leaves. I layered it onto a 3-3/4" x 3-3/4" piece of Gray Granite and used strong adhesive to mount it onto the left gate fold only.
Sweet Sentiment—I punched the ends of a 3-3/4" x 3/4" strip of Soft Sea Foam with the Lovely Label Pick-a-Punch. Watch the video for some tips on how to get the ends punched straight. I stamped a Celebrate Sunflowers sentiment on it with Misty Moonlight and popped it up with Dimensionals.
Finishing Touches—I tied a Linen Thread bow and attached it to the banner with a Glue Dot, then added a single Bumblebee In Color Enamel Dot.
I added a 3-1/4" x 3-3/4" piece of Whisper White on the inside for the message.
Two Cool—This is the card created by Susie Wood that I CASEd! Susie's card base is in Basic Black and decorated with World of Good DSP. She stamped the sunflowers with Memento Tuxedo Black and I love the non-colored look! She finished hers with a Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon bow.
