I realized after I was done with my LIVE Class video that I never shared my "two cool" version of this project. I love it because it proves that you don't have to have every sunflower colored in yellow to be awesome!
Background Basics—This version will be part of the LIVE Class Kit. I started by adhering a 2" x 5-1/4" piece of Old Olive & gold Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper along the side of an Old Olive card base.
Sensational Sunflower—I stamped the large sunflower from the Celebrate Sunflowers set in Early Espresso ink onto a 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" square of Whisper White. I also stamped a couple of the leaves next to the flowers, using a mask to allow me to layer them flawlessly. To mask, I stamped the flower onto copy paper and cut out the image right on the line with no border. Then, I laid the mask over the flower and stamped the leaf on the side.
I colored the image with Stampin' Blends Markers. The flower is colored all over with Dark Daffodil Delight and shaded with Dark Mango Melody. The flower center is colored with Dark Crumb Cake. The leaves were colored in Light Old Olive.
I mounted the stamped layer onto a 3-5/8" x 3-5/8" piece of Mossy Meadow and popped it up with Dimensionals onto the card front.
Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Celebrate Sunflowers sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink onto a 3-1/4" x 3/4" strip of Whisper White. I banner-cut the end and adhered it to the bottom of the card front with SEAL adhesive.
Finishing Touches—I colored a single Rhinestone Jewel with the Dark Soft Suede Blends Marker and added it next to the sentiment. I also tied a double-bow with Linen Thread and attached it with a pinched Glue Dot to the leaves.
Two Cool—I'm loving this alternate color combo for the sunflower. This card begins with a 2" x 5-1/4" piece of World of Good Specialty Designer Series Paper adhered to a Basic Gray card base.
Focal Point Layer—I colored the flower with Dark Pool Party and Light Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blends. The center is in Soft Suede and the leaves are in Dark Old Olive Blends. Instead of the natural Linen Thread, I selected the gold thread from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack for the bow. The sentiment is stamped in Bermuda Bay ink and the Rhinestone Jewel is colored with Dark Basic Black. Very elegant!
