Sunflowers are so bright and cheery and August is the perfect time to create pretty sunflower projects! Here are two versions of the same double-sunflower card. I shared how to make the first one on the video, then completely forgot to even show my "two cool" version! Here are the details…
Background Basics—I started by embossing a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Crumb Cake cardstock with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder and adhering it to a Crumb Cake card base. I tied some Braided Linen Trim around the card front into a double-knot.
Next, I sponged Soft Suede ink onto a 4" x 3" piece of Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper with a white and gold pattern. I layered that onto a 4-1/4" x 3-1/4" piece of Soft Suede and adhered that to the card front with SEAL adhesive.
Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Celebrate Sunflowers sentiment in Soft Suede onto a Whisper White Tasteful Labels die-cut and adhered that to the card front. I die-cut a Gold Foil sprig using the Sunflowers dies and attached that to the label, as well.
Sensational Sunflowers—I stamped two of the smaller Celebrate Sunflowers images in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock, then colored them with Stampin' Blends Markers. The flower petals are colored with Dark Daffodil Delight all over, then shaded with Dark Mango Melody. I added Dark Soft Suede marker to the center and the leaves are Light Old Olive. I die-cut the images with the Sunflowers dies and popped them up with Dimensionals next to the sentiment.
Finishing Touches—I finished with a couple of gold Gilded Gems to balance out the gold sprig.
Two Cool—I still can't believe I forgot to show this version in the video, because I love how it turned out! The Whisper White background is embossed with the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing folder and it's mounted onto a Thick Whisper White card base. This time, I tied some Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon around the front.
Focal Point Layer—I sponged Mint Macaron onto the DSP this time and layered it onto a Mint Macaron piece. I also tried a different Tasteful Labels die-cut shape, and positioned the flowers and gems differently, but other than that it's the same elements.
