One of the things I absolutely love about Stampin’ Up! is their gorgeous papers! I couldn’t wait to play with the beautiful Floral Charm Designer Series Paper as soon as I saw it. The watercolor florals were created from hand-painted artwork by Stampin’ Up! artisans. This one was my favorite color combination, but so many of the patterns were appealing to me. Do you love this DSP, too?

I started by adhering a 4″ x 2″ piece of the Floral Charm DSP to the top of a Pretty Peacock card base. Next, I embossed a 4″ x 3″ piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock and adhered that to the bottom of the card front. I brought them together with a 4-1/4″ x 3/4″ strip of Cajun Craze cardstock across the middle.

I die-cut a Basic Beige Stylish Shapes circle and stamped the simple Charming Day sentiment on the front with Pretty Peacock ink. The “hey” can be used alone, or in combination with other phrases from the stamp set that you could add to the inside of the card. I adhered the circle with SEAL Adhesive, centered across the Cajun Craze strip.

I stamped the Charming Day large floral image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Basic White cardstock, then used Stampin’ Blends Markers to color it with a watercolor feel. I used Lost Lagoon and Mossy Meadow Blends for the leaves. The flower starts with Light Petal Pink, then I added shading with Light Calypso Coral and Light Cajun Craze. It’s die-cut with the coordinating Charming Day die, then popped up with Dimensionals over the circle.

TIP: I tried to mimic the look of the flowers on the DSP, so I left a little white space around the edges of the images. It gives it a softer, light & airy, watercolor look. I encourage you to experiment with lighter and darker, more layered, coloring, to find the look you like best.

I finished with a few Petal Pink Charming Faceted Shimmer Dots around the focal point. I didn’t have my Petal Pink Braided Trim available when I was designing these cards, but I would have totally added a strip of frayed Braided Trim under the focal point and on top of the Cajun Craze strip. That would have been the cherry on top!
