One of the exciting things about being a Hostess is that you can spend your Hostess Rewards Dollars on the exclusive Hostess merchandise featured at the front of the catalog and mini flyers. You can also browse the complete selection of Hostess merchandise at my Online Store under the Stampin' Rewards category.
Did you know that these items are discounted, too, so selecting them gives you even more bang for your buck!
For example, today's cards feature the delightful Cheerful Treat Designer Series Paper and very popular Happiest Birthday Wishes stamps set. Normally, the paper would cost $10.95, but Hostesses can purchase it with just $8 of their Reward Dollars! The stamp set has 11 images and is a $25.95 value, but Hostesses can get it for only $15 in Reward Dollars! What a savings!
(Remember, this exclusive Hostess Merchandise is only available through the end of the current catalog on May 31—host your party soon!)
I brought back a pretty design that I featured last July on my White Embossed Flower Fest Cards post for these Two Cool 5×5" cards. I was making swap cards for my Demo Team Meeting last night and our theme was Spring. I love the white embossed look of these Flower Fest roses, and combined with the Cheerful Treat DSP, I thought it was perfect for our swap theme! Which background paper do you like better? I think I like the "checkered" blossom pattern the most, but both are lovely!
Layered Roses: I embossed the rose images twice for each Bashful Blue, Melon Mambo and Pink Pirouette rose, then cut out the center from one image to add a dimensional layer to the flower. A few embossed Lucky Limeade leaves are peeking out, and Rhinestone Jewel adds a little sparkle to each blossom.
Although it takes a bit of time to cut around each flower and flower center, as well as the leaves, it is totally worth the effort! I highly recommend the Paper Snips for cutting—so sharp and easy to manipulate around the curved edges!
The rest of the card comes together quickly and the finished piece is colorful and definitely cheerful!
Other Details: The bouquet of flowers is mounted on a 3" Circle die-cut, and coordinating Scallop Circles #2 die-cut. I used a strip of Concord Crush Poly-Stitched Ribbon for another textured accent.
Here are my finished cards! I love to see them all lined up when they are done—pretty, pretty, pretty!
Unique 5×5" Size Cards: Did you notice that I did a non-standard size card? It's so unlike me! I typically create projects that fit easily into a standard size envelope.
But, the new Simply Scored Diagonal Plate has changed all of that for me! Now, I can QUICKLY and EASILY create envelopes for ANY size card I create!
I used the Brights Designer Series Patterns Paper Stack to create a coordinating envelope that was just the right size! For a 5×5" card, I started with an 8-1/2" square piece of DSP, then scored diagonally on each side at 3-7/8". Snip out the triangles from each side where the score lines intersect with a 1" Square Punch, then fold and adhere! Easy, easy easy!
Stay tuned for tomorrow, because I'll show you LOTS more examples of unique size envelopes! You won't want to miss it!
