Christmas Quilt Recessed Star - 4 cool

Recessed Christmas Quilt Star Cards

We'll be creating four of these pretty quilt cards for my Countdown To Christmas Christmas Quilt class. The cards feature the beautiful patterns from the Quilted Christmas Designer Series Paper and intricate die-cuts from the Quilt Builder Framelits dies.  Let's take a closer look!

Christmas Quilt Recessed Star - pool red star 1

Background & Sentiment—I stamped the Christmas Quilt sentiment in Pool Party onto a 4" x 5-1/4" layer of Whisper White card stock, then mounted it onto a Lemon Lime Twist card base.

Quilt Star—I adhered a 3" x 3" pattern from the Quilted Christmas DSP at the top of the card.  I die-cut the traditional quilt star from Pool Party card stock and the star square outline from Real Red using the Quilt Builder Framelits.  The star shape was attached to the outline frame with a Glue Dot in the center and tiny dabs of Multipurpose Glue on each point.  I popped up the entire star over the DSP using the skinny Foam Strips.  They are the perfect width for the frame!

Finishing Touches—I die-cut the Silver Foil flower-shaped element with the Quilt Builder Framelits and adhered that with a Glue Dot for a shiny accent.  Then, I finished up with a White Baker's Twine bow, attached with a "pinched" Glue Dot.

Two Cool—For my second version, I made the card base Pool Party.

I also made the quilt star and sentiment in Lemon Lime Twist.  Mixin' & matchin' is so fun!

Three Cool—This time, I traded the Real Red quilt frame for Garden Green and changed the DSP.

Four Cool—The last card switches the colors up one more time with some new DSP.

I can't wait to make these cards with my class on October 18!  Come and join me at my studio in Fort Wayne, IN,…or make them at your convenience with a class-to-go kit!
