Christmas Quilt Textured Peace Cards

Between all the pretty Quilted Christmas Designer Series Papers and the beautiful quilt star die-cut shapes, these cards are sure to bring the warmth of home! We'll be making these four cards with the October Christmas Quilt Class Kit!

This card design was taken from directly from the Holiday Catalog on page 4…I couldn't wait to make it! I know you'll have fun creating it, too!

Background Basics—I cut a 3" x 5-1/2" striped Real Red pattern from the Quilted Christmas DSP and ran it through the Big Shot with the Quilt Top embossing folder, making sure that the "stitched" pattern was texture-side up. I adhered that piece onto a 3-1/8" x 5-1/2" layer of Garden Green card stock, then mounted it to the Real Red card base.

Cool Sanded Texture—Check out that cool texture on top of the DSP pattern. I lightly sanded the texture to really bring out the white, contrasting design. I used an old sanding block, but you could use a light grain of sanding paper, or even the fine-grain side of an emery board.

Stamped Star—I stamped the the quilt star dotted outline in Garden Green ink onto Whisper White card stock. Then I stamped the two star-point designs in Lemon Lime Twist and Pool Party inks. TIP: Look directly over the top of the stamp when stamping the solid texture to help you line it up correctly. I die-cut the star with the coordinating Quilt Builder Framelits.

Layered Star—I also die-cut the same star shape from one of the Quilted Christmas DSP patterns. It's turned 90°, so that the points are off-set a bit. Love that look!

Ribbon & Assembly—I adhered the green checked star to the card front first. Next, I adhered the Quilted Christmas 1/4" Ribbon to the back of the stamped star, then popped up that star with Dimensionals. I trimmed the ends of the ribbon on the diagonal.

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Christmas Quilt sentiment in Real Red onto the right side of a 3/4" x 3" piece of Whisper White, then fish-tailed the ends and popped it up with more Dimensionals.

Holly Accent—I die-cut two little holly leaves from Garden Green card stock using the Quilt Builder Framelits and attached them with Glue Dots. For the berry accents, I used a red Sharpie marker to color Rhinestone Jewels. So fun & sparkly!

Two Cool—I did a horizontal version using all the same elements.
