9 christmastime is here - swirly with die-cut

Christmastime Is Here Peace & Joy Card

The beautiful floral bouquet from the Christmastime Is Here Designer Series Paper is featured on this quick & easy card.  This is one of the projects that you can create from my FREE 12-Card Class!

Background Basics—I layered a 5" x 3-3/4" piece of Christmastime Is Here swirly patterned paper onto a 5-1/8" x 3-7/8" piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock and mounted it onto a Thick Whisper White card base.  Next, I die-cut Mossy Meadow cardstock with one of the larger Stitched Rectangle dies for a faux-stitched layer to frame the flowers.

Floral Focal Point—The beautiful flowers are die-cut from the Christmastime Is Here DSP with the Roses die, then popped up with Dimensionals. How easy can it get?!.

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the sentiment from the Christmas Rose stamp set in Cherry Cobbler ink onto a 2-1/4" x 3/4" piece of Whisper White, fishtail cut the ends, added a piece of Gold Ribbon behind it and popped it up, too.  I finished with a few Gold Glitter Enamel Dots floating around the flowers like dew drops.  Ahhh…so simple!

Bundle It & SAVE—Purchase the Christmas Rose stamps and the Roses dies together in a bundle to save 10%!

Christmastime is Here step card - karen

Karen's Christmastime Is Here Center Step Card

Karen Flory shared this beautiful card at a recent team event!  The frosty, glittering sparkles are simply spectacular in person!

Step-Card Foundation—This card begins with an 4-1/4" x 11" card base with a few special cuts to achieve that standing stair-step fold:

  • Along the 11" side, score at the 1" line down only 1", then pick up the scoring tool and continue the score again on from the 3-1/4" mark to the 4-1/4" mark.
  • Repeat that score at the 2" line down only 1", then pick up the scoring tool and continue the score again on from the 3-1/4" mark to the 4-1/4" mark.
  • Repeat that score at the 6-1/2" line down only 1", then pick up the scoring tool and continue the score again on from the 3-1/4" mark to the 4-1/4" mark.
  • On the 5-1/2" line, score between the 1" and 3-3/4" marks.
  • Turn the base to the 4-1/4" side and cut on the 1" line between the 1" and 6-1/2" marks.
  • Repeat the cut on the 3-1/4" line between the 1" and 6-1/2" marks.
Multi-Panel Step Card Tutorial—I did tutorial on this kind of card that you can see here: Multi-Panel Step Card Tutorial.

Decorating The Step Card—Karen added beautiful layers of Gold Foil and Christmastime Is Here DSP for the background:
  • Bottom: 4-1/8" x 7/8" Gold Foil and 4" x 3/4" DSP.
  • Sides: 7/8" x 4/3/8" Gold Foil and 3/4" x 4-1/4" DSP
  • Center: 2-1/8" x 4-3/8" Gold Foil and 2" x 4-1/4" DSP

Sweet Sentiment—Karen stamped the Christmas Rose sentiment in Cherry Cobbler onto Whisper White and die-cut it with the Roses dies. It's adhered with SNAIL and adorned with a single Gold Glitter Enamel Gem.

Sparkling Floral—Karen die-cut the beautiful flowers from the Christmastime Is Here DSP and popped it up with Dimensionals onto the center step.  Then, she added some of the super-chunky, super-sparkly Ice Stampin' Glitter with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. I love the frosty effect!  It reminds me of old Christmas ornaments with sugar-like frosty glitter covering holly berries and pine cones…do you remember?

The card was finished with a simple Gold Shimmer Ribbon bow attached with a Glue Dot.
