Hi Stamping Friends!

As we go from season to season, the Colorful Seasons bundle always has something that fits the time of year perfectly!  When new stampers ask me for suggestions on a great starter stamp set, I like to recommend this set because of its awesome versatility.  I love the beautiful sayings, the pretty fonts, and the cool, coordinating die-cuts, too!  It certainly provides a myriad of possibilities for creativity!

Today, I'm sharing lovely Seasonal Layers fall and winter cards created by Too Cool team member Peggy Tassler.

Fast Fuse Promotion Temporarily On Hold!

Due to the unexpected and overwhelming response of the Buy 1 Fast Fuse, Get 2 Refills FREE, Stampin' Up! has announced that it has already depleted its inventory for this promotion (2 years worth of sales in 5 days!).  Unfortunately, than means that the promotion is temporarily on hold until more inventory can be brought into their warehouse.  Stampin' Up! will still honor the promotion by having a 5-day sale at a later date this year.  Stay tuned!

Colorful Seasons Falling Leaves Sympathy Card

I love how Peggy Tassler paired the beautiful multicolored stamped leaves with the gorgeous copper leaf die-cuts on this card!  The Colorful Seasons bundle makes it so easy!

Background Basics—Peggy started by stamping those two sizes of leaves across a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Whisper White.  There are a few ways that you can achieve the multicolored look when stamping.  Choose the one that works best for you!
  • Baby Wipe Technique—Fold two layers of baby wipes into quarters, drop a few drops of Refill Ink in colors that blend well, then use it as an ink pad to stamp the image.
  • Sponge Dauber Technique—Dab 2-3 colors of ink directly onto the stamp until it's colored, then stamp onto the paper.
  • Markers with Spritzer Technique—Color directly on the stamp with 2-3 different markers until covered, then stamp onto the paper.  You could lightly spritz the stamp with water before stamping to help the colors blend and give the image more of a watercolor feel.
It looks like Peggy used the Baby Wipe technique with Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze and maybe a hint of Crumb Cake. After stamping, she ran it through the Big Shot with the Layered Leaves Dynamic embossing folder and mounted it onto a Crushed Curry card base.

Copper Leaves—Peggy die-cut the pretty Copper Foil skeleton leaves from the matching Seasonal Layers Thinlits.  To adhere intricate die-cuts, I like to sponge Multipurpose Glue onto the back.  See my Silicon Mat video for gluing tips.

Sweet Sentiment—Peggy stamped the Flourishing Phrases greeting in VersaMark onto Whisper White, then sprinkled it with Copper Embossing Powder and heated it with a Heat Tool until glossy & smooth.  It's die-cut with the Layering Ovals Framelits, then popped up with Dimensionals.  Too Cool!

Seasonal Layers Snowflake Christmas Card

Peggy used the same Seasonal Layers Thinlits to make a beautiful holiday card with the snowflake dies.  Ahhh…so elegant!

Background Basics—Peggy decorated a 4" x 5-1/4" layer of Whisper White card stock with a 2-1/4" x 5-1/4" piece of the pretty Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Paper.  That paper pack is one of my favorites this season because every sheet has beautiful foil patterns in gold, silver or the new champagne color.  The pattern Peggy chose has both a snowflake look for winter and a fireworks look for the New Year…another fun product that moves from season to season!

Before mounting the background layer on the Whisper White card base, Peggy wrapped some Silver Thread around the center of the card for a sweet textured element.

Sensational Snowflakes—The three styles of snowflakes are die-cut using Seasonal Layers Thinlits from the new Champagne Foil paper.  That metallic color looks like silver in this photo, but it's a little "warmer" color than silver.  The snowflakes were adhered with Multipurpose Glue.

Sweet Sentiment & Finishing Touches—Peggy stamped Starlight sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a 2-1/2" x 1/2" strip of Whisper White and popped up with Dimensionals.  She added a few floating Rhinestone Jewels that look like smaller, glistening snowflakes.  Sweet!
