Hi Stamping Friends!

I'm really having fun playing with emboss resist this week!  Today, I'm using Ink Pads & Aqua Painters along with embossing to make a beautiful & colorful watercolor wash background.

But first a reminder…

Congrats Watercolor Wash Resist Cards

Congrats wash - four cool

Talk about fun and easy!  I love the look of a watercolor wash and when you pair it with an extra-large, embossed sentiment, it creates an amazing, colorful focal point!

Congrats wash - watermelon

Background Basics—I started by adding a 5-1/2" x 2-3/4" piece of Melon Mambo card stock to a Watermelon Wonder card base.

Trendy Stripes—I'm loving the look of striped accents to make a focal point pop.  These stripes are from the Typeset Designer Series Papers.  To save paper, I cut two 5-1/2" x 1/4" strips rather than have the paper go behind the focal point.  I adhered the strips with SNAIL.

Emboss Sentiment—I stamped the sentiment from the Bravo photopolymer stamp set in VersaMark ink onto a 5-1/2" x 2" piece of Watercolor Paper, then heat embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder.

Watercolor Wash—Now, the fun really begins!  You're gonna want to stamp and emboss several versions, because playing with the color combinations is completely addictive!  I simply used an Aqua Painter to pick up some color from the lid of an ink pad and washed the color over the top of the embossed image. I brushed on three colors, taking care to wipe the brush clean between colors.  Once the colors are laid side by side, I cleaned my brush again, then did some additional blending between colors to create a smooth flow of colors.  I dabbed a paper towel over the top to absorb excess water and set it aside to dry for a few minutes before popping up with Dimensionals on the card front.

Colors Used—Crushed Curry, Watermelon Wonder & Melon Mambo

Finishing Touches—The card needed a little sparkle, so I added 5 Rhinestone Jewels all around the word.

Two Cool—My second version started with a Bermuda Bay card base and Pacific Point background layer.

Congrats wash - bermuda2

Colors Used—Old Olive, Bermuda Bay & Pacific Point.

Congrats wash - melon

Three Cool—The third card has a Melon Mambo card base and Watermelon Wonder focal point layer.

Congrats wash - melon2

Colors Used—Watermelon Wonder, Melon Mambo & Rich Razzleberry.  The different colors weren't not as defined on this blend.  I think I would have like this one better if I had added a little more Rich Razzleberry color on the right side.

Congrats wash - pacific

Four Cool—On my last card, I used a Pacific Point card base and Bermuda Bay focal point layer.

Congrats wash - pacific2

Colors Used—Bermuda Bay, Pacific Point & Elegant Eggplant.  This one is my favorite!
