Hi Stamping Friends!

I'm still having so much fun with the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set…there are so many ways to use it!  Today, I'm sharing a simple and easily duplicatable holiday card featuring the Santa from that amazing set!  It was my swap card at a recent Too Cool Team event.

Merry santa - two cool

CASEd from Kris McIntosh at Stamping with Kris.

Cookie Cutter Christmas Merry Santa

I love these cards because they are quick to create and feature traditional Christmas-time colors!  The only real difference between the two cards is the sentiment.  More details about that in a minute!

Merry santa - red

Background Basics—This card begins with a 5-1/4" x 1-1/4" strip of This Christmas Designer Series Paper adhered to a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  This is a fantastic holiday paper choice!  Each pack has 24 lightweight sheets with double-sided holiday patterns—so it goes twice as far for your Christmas projects! Too Cool!

I wrapped some Cherry Cobbler 3/8" Silky Taffeta Ribbon from the combo pack around the background layer and tied it in a double-knot.  It's adhered to a Garden Green card base.

Merry santa - red 3

Sparkly Santa—I stamped the Cookie Cutter Christmas Santa image in Archival Black Ink.  I colored him in with a Blender Pen and Classic Inks.  I used Cherry Cobbler for his suit, Smoky Slate for the buckle and Blushing Bride for his face.  Since the Archival Ink is a different ink formula and doesn't blend well, I colored with a Black Stampin' Write Marker onto a clear block to create a palette for coloring the mittens, belt and boots.  Santa was punched out with the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch, then popped up with Dimensionals.

I also stamped the ball of the Santa hat separately and punched it out and adhered it with SNAIL.

Finally, I colored Santa's suit with the Wink of Stella glimmer brush.  Sparkly, sparkly!

Bundle It & SAVE—Save 10% off the cost of ordering the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set and Cookie Cutter Builder Punch separately, when you purchase them together in the Cookie Cutter Christmas Bundle!

Merry santa - red 4

Sparkly Sentiment—I created a focal point sentiment by die-cutting the Christmas Greeting "merry" from Red Glimmer Paper.  It's adhered with the Fine-Tip Glue Pen.  I stamped the Holly Jolly Greetings "Christmas" word in Garden Green on a 1-3/4" x 3/8" strip of Very Vanilla, then fishtailed the ends and popped it with Dimensionals.

Merry santa - vanilla

Two Cool—For my second version, I tried a vanilla-on-vanilla layered technique for the sentiment.

Merry santa - vanilla 2

Merry Dimensional—I die-cut the Christmas Greetings word twice from Very Vanilla, then adhered the two layers together to create a 3D sentiment.  I didn't get the layers lined up as well as I had intended, but I still like the off-set, drop-shadow look. I also brushed on some Wink of Stella on the word to make it stand out a little more.

I stamped the Holly Jolly greeting directly on the background for this one, so as not to distract from the 3D effect.

Complete Supplies List—"Clear" means a rubber stamp on a clear block. "Photopolymer" is see-thru. Not all supplies are used for every project shown.
