Hi Stamping Friends!
Last Sunday, I had the pleasure of spoiling my Sale-a-Bration VIPs at my annual Sale-a-Bration Celebration event! We created lots of projects, gave away lots of prizes and ate lots of ice cream from the sundae bar! It was the best! Thanks to everyone who joined us! I hope you had the best time!
Today, I'm sharing the invitation that was sent out to my VIPs for the event. Thanks to Peggy Tassler for helping to stamp & assemble all the cards we sent out!

Cool Treats Celebration Duo Debossed Cards
As soon as I started playing with the Celebrations Duo "debossing" folder earlier this year, I fell in love with it! The reversed texture has provided stampers with a cool twist on traditional texture embossing. One of my favorite techniques to try with it is stamping over the top of the debossed words to highlight them!
Background Basics—I wanted a background that really popped, so we I added a 2" x 4-1/4" striped pattern from the Tasty Treats Specialty Designer Series Paper to a Pool Party card base.
Pretty Popsicles—The focal point begins by embossing a 4-3/4" x 3-1/2" piece of Whisper White with the Celebrations Duo folder. TIP: You may need to spritz the card stock with water to loosen up the fibers to prevent tearing or cracking the paper.
Peggy did all the popsicle stamping and I love, love, LOVE how they turned out! TIP: For best results, don't press too hard when stamping over the debossed word, otherwise you'll get ink in the crevices. You just need a firm press, held down long enough to allow the ink to fully transfer and absorb.
It also helps to stamp in a particular order for best positioning::
- Stamp the center popsicle first in stamped-off Watermelon Wonder ink.
- Stamp the tall popsicles next in stamped-off Pool Party ink.
- Stamp the popsicles on the ends in stamped-off Peekaboo Peach ink.
- Add the coordinating stripes and highlights in matching, full-strength colors.
- Add Crumb Cake popsicle sticks under each one.
The stamped layer is matted onto a 4-7/8" x 3-5/8" piece of Peekaboo Peach card stock, then popped up with Dimensionals.
Finishing Touches—A Bermuda Bay striped Baker's Twine bow was added to the last popsicle with a Glue Dot. Some Rhinestone Jewels are floating around the frozen treats, too!
Two Cool—The second card begins with a Peekaboo Peach card base and Pool Party Tasty Treats DSP pattern for the background.
It's matted on Watermelon Wonder this time, but the stamping is identical. This card makes me so happy! I'm so glad that the Cool Treats stamp set and Celebrations Duo folders are carrying over into the new Annual Catalog that comes out in June! Yippee!
