Cottage Rose Bay Window Fun Fold Card Cindy Westerink sent me this ultra-cool card for our "wow" swap! I've heard that it's called the Bay Window fun fold, but that is a bit of a misnomer since there is no "window" in the card. Maybe it would be better to call it a Tri-Panel Display card?! Whatever you call it, it is absolutely amazing and I could not wait to recreate it. My card is nearly identical to Cindy's and I will have all the parts to make it in my Cottage Rose LIVE Class Kit.
Bay Window Fold—I began this card with a 11" x 4-1/4" Crumb Cake half-sheet, then score along the long side at: 3/8", 1-7/8", 3-5/8", 5-1/8" and 5-1/2". I folded and burnished the score lines so that the three panels would bow out like a bay window. Then, I decorated each of the panels:
- (2) 1/4" x 4" strips of Abigail Rose striped DSP for the skinny end panels
- (2) 1-1/4" x 4" Abigail Rose DSP and (2) 1-3/8" x 4-1/8" Early Espresso cardstock for the outer bay panels
- 1-1/2" x 4" Abigail Rose DSP and 1-5/8" x 4-1/8" Early Espresso cardstock for the center bay panel
I adhered all of the layers, then adhered the inside of the left skinny panel to the inside of the card to create a little "spine" like a photo album style card.
Focal Point—I die-cut a Petal Pink Designer Tag Dies label that has tag-style holes at either end. I threaded a piece of Natural Finish Ribbon through the holes, then adhered the whole piece to the center bay panel with the stronger SEAL+ Adhesive. You could also use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Tear & Tape.
I stamped the Cottage Rose floral image in Early Espresso onto Basic White and colored it with Flirty Flamingo, Petal Pink and Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends Markers. It was then die cut with Cottage Flowers Dies and popped up with Dimensionals.
Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Cottage Rose sentiment in Early Espresso ink onto a Basic White Stylish Shapes banner die-cut and attached it to the tag with SEAL Adhesive. I finished up by adding some matching Champagne Rhinestones around the focal point. Isn't it just darling?!
Bay Window Kickstand—I added a 4-7/8" x 4" piece of Basic White cardstock on the inside for a writing space, then added a "kickstand" element to secure the bay window into place. To make that, I die-cut a Crumb Cake Designer Tags shape. I stamped the Cottage Rose flowers in Early Espresso ink, colored them with Blends Markers and die-cut them with the Cottage Flowers Dies.
I adhered the three flowers onto the tag, then popped it up with Dimensionals, positioning the element so that it would secure the end of the bay window card front when open. So, so cool!
Cottage Rose Delicate Details Treat Bag I created these pretty pouches for participants at my July Too Cool Stampers Team event! I saw the idea originally created by Patty Bennett and I love how it looked, especially with the cardstock insert to show through the intricate laser-cut floral pattern.
Bag Altering—I started by assembling the Delicate Details Treat Bag. It's so easy, because Stampin' Up! already has adhesive on the bag; just fold and adhere to assemble! Next, I added a 3-1/8" x 5" piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock to the inside of the bag with a few dots of Liquid Multipurpose Glue between the holes. The bag comes with two pre-punched holes at the top for ribbon, but adding the cardstock for this project covers the holes. No problem…just use a standard 1/4" hole punch to re-punch the holes.
Bag Basics—This is a really nice size treat bag! The finished bag measures 3-1/4" wide, 2" deep and fillable area is approximately 3-1/2" high. I filled my bags with Pepperidge Farms Milano 2-pack cookies in a small individually wrapped package and some butterscotch toffee candies. I like to match my treats to the bag somehow and I selected these because they were a little more "elegant" treats…and they did a good job of filling the large bag. There are 8 bags in a Delicate Details Treat Bag package.
Floral Décor—Like the card above, I decorated the bag with a Cottage Rose floral image stamped in Early Espresso ink onto Basic White cardstock. It's colored with Flirty Flamingo, Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam Stampin' Blends Markers, die-cut with Cottage Flowers Dies and popped up. Fantastic Finish—The Cottage Rose sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso ink onto another style of Designer Tags die-cuts. Aren't they delightful shapes? This label is adhered directly onto the bag. I finished by adding some Iridescent Rhinestones and typing the bag with some beautiful Petal Pink Soft Polyester Ribbon. I really love how they turned out and I hope my team really liked them!
