Cottage Rose Double-Circle Gate Fold Card
I was part of a "wow" card swap recently and this is the card that I contributed. It's a traditional gate-fold style, stepped up a bit to include overlapping circle elements. I liked it so much that I included it as part of my Cottage Rose LIVE Class Kit, so you can make one, too!
Background Basics—I started with a 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" piece of Smoky Slate cardstock, scored at 2-1/8" and 6-3/8" and folded to make the gate-fold card base. TIP: Remember to position the edges of the gates flush closed before burnishing the score lines with the Bone Folder. This will help you from getting a gap or overlap.
I decorated the front gates with 1-7/8" x 5-1/4" pieces of Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper. Next, I die cut a large Very Vanilla circle with the Stylish Shapes Dies and popped it up on the left gate with Dimensionals. It's just a bit off-set to the right side.
Focal Point—I stamped the Cottage Rose large floral image in Early Espresso ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock and die cut it with the Cottage Flowers Dies. It's popped up onto the circle with Dimensionals. I also stamped the leaves in Early Espresso ink onto Smoky Slate cardstock, die cut it and tucked it under the floral die-cut. I die cut a small Cottage Flowers leaf from Crumb Cake cardstock and it's peeking out from under the top of the flower with Liquid Multipurpose Glue.
Sweet Sentiment—I die cut a Crumb Cake medium banner with the Stylish Shapes dies and stamped a Cottage Rose sentiment in Early Espresso on it. It's adhered with SEAL and a Mini Dimensional. I finished by adding a few Rustic Metallic Dots along the top edge of the circle.
Second Circle—I die cut a slightly smaller Very Vanilla Stylish Shapes circle and stamped that with another sentiment and leaves in Early Espresso ink. It's adhered directly behind the first circle onto the right gate with SEAL Adhesive.
Inside The Card—When you open the second gate, there's a third Cottage Rose sentiment stamped on the 4" x 5-1/4" Very Vanilla piece, directly behind the circles. I also stamped the floral image and more leaves, all with Early Espresso ink. I just adore the layering circle elements on this special gate-fold card!
Cottage Rose With Gold Accents Card Connie Ingram also used the Cottage Rose Bundle to create a "wow" style card for our swap. OOoooh, if you could only see this shimmery beauty in person! I am loving all of the cool, layered details!
Background Basics—She started with a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Abigail Rose DSP adhered to a Basic Black card base. Next, She created a Basic Black Split Textures Card die-cut measuring 3-1/4" x 5-1/4". I love the diagonal trellis-like look. Before adhering it to the card front, she added a thin strip of the Gold Metallic Specialty Paper down the left side, giving it an awesome, finished look.
Fabulous Flower—Connie stamped the Cottage Rose floral image in VersaMark ink onto Shimmery White paper, then embossed it with gold embossing powder. It looks so amazing! She die cut it with the Cottage Floral Dies, then popped it up onto the card front.
Sweet Sentiment—She finished by stamping a True Beauty sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black onto Shimmery White cardstock, then die-cutting it with the Seasonal Labels Dies. It's popped up with more Dimensionals, then accented with Champagne Rhinestones.
Fantastic Finish—I love the elegant trim décor that Connie added to the bottom of the inside of the card. So classy!
