Hi Stamping Friends!

I can't wait to share today's card with my "Last Thursdays" card class tonight, because it will be the first time we try out the NEW Stampin' Blends Markers!

1 Large Stampin' Blends image

Stampin' Blends Markers Are Coming November 1—If you love coloring stamped images, you're going to love these new alcohol-based markers!  As the name suggests, they blend easily, allowing you to shade and layer colors without obvious marker strokes or pilling of the card stock.  They will come in 12 of the most popular Stampin' Up! colors, plus Bronze & Ivory markers and a Color Lifter marker.

Color Me Happy Stamp Set & KitA new Color Me Happy stamp set & 16-card project kit will also be available while supplies last on November 1.  This kit is designed with coloring & blending in mind, so you have the perfect opportunity to try out your new Stampin' Blends markers!  See all the details below!

Count My Blessings Thinking Of You Cards

The Count My Blessings stamp set has such pretty images for a fall floral card, and I couldn't wait to color them with the new Stampin' Blends Markers!  What a lovely card to send a friend this season!

Count My Blessings with Blends - coral
Background Basics—This card begins with a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper.  Don't forget to stock up on this beautiful set of papers before the Buy 3, Get 1 FREE Designer Series Paper promo ends on October 31!

Lovely Layers—I added a 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" layer of Vellum card stock over the DSP and I love how it tones down the background pattern, while still allowing its essence to show through.  Next, I adhered a 5-1/4" strip of Burlap Ribbon along the side with some Tear & Tape adhesive for a little natural texture.

Beautiful Blends—The Count My Blessings floral image was stamped in Memento Black Ink, the preferred ink for color with alcohol markers, onto a 2-3/4" x 3-1/2 layer of Very Vanilla.  I stamped the smaller sprigs of blooms on either side with the same ink.  To color with the Stampin' Blends, I lightly colored over the whole area with the light version of the color, then lightly feathered on the darker color to add shade.  I finished by blending the two colors with the lighter color again.

The flower is colored with Calypso Coral markers, the leaves with Old Olive markers, and the tiny blooms with the light Cherry Cobbler marker.  It's mounted onto a 2-7/8" x 3-5/8" layer of Calypso Coral card stock and popped up with Dimensionals onto the card front.

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Count My Blessings in Memento Black Ink onto Very Vanilla, then die-cut with the Layering Ovals Framelits and popped up with Dimensionals on the edges and SNAIL on the part that overlaps the stamped image.  I finished up with a Linen Thread bow, attached with a "pinched" Glue Dot.

Two Cool—The second version is identical, except that I colored the flower with Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends Markers and mounted onto a Crushed Curry card base.
