Reason For The Season Mossy Meadow Cards

I think the pretty poinsettias and old-fashion fonts of the Reason For The Season stamp set look amazing with the deep rich green of the Mossy Meadow color.  The scallops and doilies also add to the vintage feel of this card design.  Let's take a closer look.

Background Basics—The Reason For the Season set images work together for multi-step stamping.  It includes the outline of the flower focal point, then separate stamps to fill in the color on the flower and on the leaves.  I used the flower filler image to create a pretty background pattern in Mossy Meadow ink onto the Mossy Meadow card base.

Focal Point Layers—I punched two corners on a 4-1/4" x 2-1/2" piece of Very Vanilla with the Curvy Corner Trio Punch.  This awesome punch gives you two punched corner styles, plus a slot punch for ribbons.  It's kind of hidden in the Holiday Catalog, but it's a must-have tool for your collection!

Pretty Poinsettia—I stamped the flower outline in Memento Black ink onto Very Vanilla card stock, then stamped the flower filler image in Real Red ink and the leaves filler image in Mossy Meadow ink.  The images are easy to line up because they are the see-thru photopolymer style!  I colored the flower center with a Hello Honey Marker.  The flower is hand-cut with super-sharp Paper Snips.

Gold Accents—I covered the back of the flower in SNAIL adhesive, then wrapped some Gold Cording Trim around my fingers three times.  After twisting the loops into a "figure 8," I applied them to the sticky back, then secured the strands with several Dimensionals before mounting the flower onto the Vanilla piece.  A few Gold Sequins are floating around the flower, attached with Glue Dots.

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Reason For The Season greeting in Memento Black ink, then matted the layer onto a 4-1/4" x 2-3/4" piece of Real Red.

Gold Foil Doily—I cut a Gold Metallic Doily into thirds and adhered one of them behind the Real Red layer before adding it to the card base.  So pretty!

More Cool Versions—I experimented with some different looks with the same elements.  I changed out the greetings on the first card above, then flipped the flower to the right on the second one.

…And More Cool—Then I tried a horizontal version, and using the focal point layer as a centered banner.

…And One More—Finally, I tried centered the focal point on a horizontal card.  These elements are very versatile!  We'll be creating 6 cards at class, so you can experiment with your favorite designs!  I hope you can join us!

Complete Supplies List—"Clear" means a rubber stamp on a clear block. "Photopolymer" is see-thru.
