Stripes presents & ornaments - 6 cool

Candy Striped Presents & Ornaments Cards

You are going to love the versatility of the Your Presents stamp set!  I had so much fun on this first card design from the September Countdown To Christmas Series. There are so many fun elements and patterns, giving you lots of options for mixing & matching.  And, this isn't just a holiday stamp set!  It's also perfect for any gift-giving occasion and would be especially fun to make colorful dancing and stacked birthday presents!  And the circles could turn into festive, patterned balloons for any occasion, too!  So, so, so many possibilities!

Stripes presents - 3 cool

There were so many options, I decided to do three cards using the presents theme…

…and three of the cards using the ornaments theme.  Both use all of the same basic card elements, they just have different focal points!  You'll be able to choose which how many of each design you want to make for your class kit!

Stripes presents - dancing

Background Basics—The cards all start with a Real Red card base.  I added a 5-1/4" x 1" strip of the gorgeous new Holiday Fancy Foil Vellum in the Real Red candy cane stripes to the bottom of a 5-1/4" x 4" layer of Whisper White for the background. After adhering a 5-1/4" x 1/2" strip of Mint Macaron above the vellum, I wrapped some of the new Garden Green 1/8" Striped Ribbon over the top, securing the ends on the back.

Sweet Sentiment—I added the Your Presents word "joy" in Garden Green ink right away so I knew how to position my focal point elements later.

Stripes presents - dancing 2

Trio of Presents—I stamped each of the presents on Whisper White scrap card stock, then hand-cut them and popped them up in different arrangements for every card.  This card has the small package stamped in Garden Green, the large striped present stamped in Real Red and the medium present stamped in Mint Macaron.

Beautiful Bows—Each of the bows is a little different, and I didn't even use all of the bow options that are available in the stamp set!  The first bow is made with Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine and adhered with Multipurpose Glue.  The second is the Garden Green 1/8" Striped Ribbon adhered with a Glue Dot.  The third gift has a Real Red die-cut from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits, also adhered with Multipurpose Glue.

Stripes presents - trees

Two Cool Presents—I changed up the gifts a bit on the second card.  This time I stamped the trees pattern in Garden Green and cut it down to a size I liked.  They are also straightened up, sitting in a nice grouping instead of dancing.

Stripes presents - kissed stripes

Three Cool Presents—On the third version, I stamped the trees pattern in Mint Macaron and changed up the combinations of bows.

Stripes presents - kissed stripes 2

Kiss Your Presents—I also tried a fun "kissing" technique, which this stamp set was specifically designed to do!  I inked up the striped pattern in Real Red, then "kissed" the rubber to the rubber of the medium solid present to transfer the ink, then stamped the image onto card stock!  The stripes will not be as crisp and clear as stamping them directly, but it gives a pretty pattern to the package nonetheless!

Stripes ornaments - mint plaid

CASEd from Priscilla Ivler at Stampin' Amigos.

Background Basics—I started with the same background basics as the presents for the ornament cards, I simply added the sentiment to the bottom of the vertical card base.

Stripes ornaments - mint plaid 2

Trio of Ornaments—I stamped the patterns for the ornaments onto Whisper White scrap card stock, then punched them out with a 1-1/4" Circle Punch.  The first was stamped with the stripes pattern in Mint Macaron, then I turned the stamp 90° and stamped over it again for a plaid design.  The second is the Real Red stripes.  The third was made by stamping the solid square in Mint Macaron and then stamping the trees in Garden Green over the top.

Ornament Toppers—I stamped all of the ornament hangers in Garden Green, then I used a Garden Green Stampin' Write Marker to hand-draw the strings. The bows are identical to the ones from the presents.

Stripes ornaments - green plaid

Two Cool Ornaments—My second card is very similar, I just tried using both Mint Macaron & Garden Green to make the first plaid pattern.

Stripes ornaments - red h stripes
Three Cool Ornaments—Again, not much different…just did the plaid in all Garden Green and positioned the red stripes horizontally.

Complete Supplies List—Stamp links will be LIVE after Holiday Catalog is released on September 1.
