Daffodil Daydream Front Flap Card - two cool

Daffodil Daydream Die-Cut Flower Cards
When you purchase the Daffodil Daydream Bundle, you not only get lovely daffodil stamp images, you also receive lots of die-cutting possibilities for creating layered paper daffodils! I featured a die-cut daffodil on today's fun-fold front flap card. There are so many different dies in the set…it may be a little confusing on how the pieces all layer together. Be sure to check out some examples on how you can layer the parts on pages 37 and 77 of the Mini Catalog and on pages 4-5 of the Sale-a-Bration Flyer.

I learned this card style at my team's Stamp & Share event last Monday from Kathe Madsen. So cool!

Daffodil Daydream Front Flap Card - flirty

Background Basics—This card begins with a 4-1/4" x 11" piece of Very Vanilla Thick cardstock. I cut 2" off the end to make it 9" long and saved that 2" wide piece to use later. I created two short panels for the card front by scoring along the 9" side at the 1-3/4" and 7-1/4" marks. I decorated those panels with two 4" x 1-1/2" pieces of Daffodil Afternoon Designer Series Paper in the same pattern. Next, I decorated the 2" piece with another piece of DSP measuring 1-3/4" x 4". That piece is attached to the top panel with a few Dimensionals.

Die-Cut Daffodil—I used the Daffodil Dies to die-cut two Very Vanilla tri-petal shapes, a Pale Papaya solid bell, a Flirty Flamingo detailed bell and Pear Pizzazz stem and leaf. I adhered the pieces onto the front flap with Liquid Multipurpose Glue and trimmed the ends of the stem and leaf flush with the bottom of the panel.

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Daffodil Daydream sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Pale Papaya cardstock, then punched it out with the Double Oval Punch. I also punched a Flirty Flamingo scalloped oval with the same punch, adhered them together and popped them up below the flower.

Inside The Card—I stamped some flecks from the Daffodil Daydream stamp set in Pear Pizzazz ink onto a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock and adhered it to the inside of the card. If finished by adding a few Iridescent Rhinestones on the Pear Pizzazz layer surrounding the flower. How lovely!

Two Cool—On the second card, I started with the same Very Vanilla card base, then added different patterns of Daffodil Afternoon DSP.

Focal Point—I created the same flower, only this time the bell is made with a So Saffron solid bell and a Bumblebee detailed bell. The sentiment ovals are in the same colors.

Inside The Card—Instead of flecks, I stamped the pretty border image three times, then finished with the Brushed Brass Butterflies. Next, I adhered a 1-1/2" x 4" piece of Very Vanilla cardstock on the inside directly behind the focal point flap, so there is a place to write the message.
