Daffodil Daydream Gate-Fold Birthday Cards
These gate-fold cards are a great way to showcase the beautiful Daffodil Afternoon Designer Series Paper. And, when you use DSP for the backgrounds, it makes it so easy to assemble an awesome card by simply adding a sentiment and simple focal point.
Background Basics—The 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" Evening Evergreen.card base is scored along the long side at the 2-1/8" and 6-3/8" marks. Before burnishing down the folds, I like to position the edges of the front panels flush, then use the Bone Folder to finish the fold from there. That helps to prevent gaps or overlaps with the gates. I decorated the front panels with 1-7/8" x 5-1/4" pieces of Daffodil Afternoon DSP. Focal Point—I die-cut a Mint Macaron Scalloped Contours label and popped it up onto the left gate with Dimensionals. Next, I stamped the larger Daffodil Daydream image in Memento Tuxedo Memento Black onto Very Vanilla. I colored the flowers with Stampin' Blends Markers: Light Old Olive for the leaves and stems, and Dark Pale Papaya and Dark Flirty Flamingo for the flowers. I die-cut the image with the coordinating Daffodil die and popped it up with Dimensionals and Mini Dimensionals.
Finishing Touches—I stamped a sentiment from the Special Moments stamp set in Memento Black ink onto a 3" x 5/8" piece of Very Vanilla. You can earn the Special Moments all-occasion stamp set for FREE with a $100 order before the end of February. I popped the sentiment up onto the label, as well. I finished by adding a few Iridescent Rhinestones for some sparkle.
Inside The Card—Don't forget to decorate the 4" x 5-1/2" Very Vanilla inside of the card with the pretty Daffodil Daydream border in Mint Macaron ink.
Two Cool—The second version begins with a Basic Black card base and two different patterns of Daffodil Afternoon DSP.
Focal Point—The label is in Flirty Flamingo this time and the flower image is the same as the first card. I used a greeting from the Daffodil Daydream stamp set on a 2-3/4" x 3/4" piece of Very Vanilla that is banner cut on the side. You could also use the Easter greeting from the set on this size of label.
