The “grand finale” of my Darling Dinos class was this delightful peek-a-boo birthday card layout featuring each of the dinosaur friends! I CASEd this card from Peggy Tassler.

I started by adhering 3″ x 3″ and a 3″ x 1-1/2″ pieces of coordinating Timeless Plaid Designer Series Paper to a 3-1/4″ x 4-3/4″ piece of Basic Beige. I tied some Basic Beige Bordered Ribbon around the piece into a double knot where the two papers meet. I mounted the background onto a Cajun Craze card base.

I cut three Basic White Stylish Shapes squares and stamped each one with a different Darling Dinos dinosaur in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. TIP: Stamp the dino as high up on the square as possible so more of his body shows.

I also added a balloon string stamp to the brontosaurus square.

After die-cutting all of the shapes, I colored them with Stampin’ Blends Markers. TIP: I like to die-cut before coloring, just in case the dies don’t line up correctly with the image when running it through the machine.

The triceratops is colored with a Light Wild Wheat body, Dark Calypso Coral frill, Light Pecan Pie horns and Light Flirty Flamingo spots. The T-rex is colored with an Ivory body, Light Wild Wheat spikes, Light Cajun Craze spots and Light Flirty Flamingo stomach. The brontosaurus is colored with Light Calypso Coral for the body with Light Wild Wheat for the spots.

I layered the squares onto 1-3/4″ squares of Calypso Coral and popped them up with Dimensionals.

I stamped three balloons and a party hat in Memento Black on Basic White scraps and die-cut them with the Darling Dinos Dies. I colored the balloons with Ivory, Calypso Coral and Wild Wheat Blends, and colored the party hat in Light Cajun Craze and Light Flirty Flamingo. I popped them up with Dimensionals to attach and added a little Wink of Stella shimmer for fun!

TIP: Before adding the balloons, I used the fine tip of a Black Stampin’ Write Marker to draw strings on two of the squares.

I finished by stamping a Darling Dinos birthday sentiment in Wild Wheat ink onto a 3/8″ strip of Basic Beige cardstock. Kits will have a strip long enough to select any of the one-line sentiments, then trim the ends and pop up.
