Darling Dinos T-rrrific Gate-Fold Cards
What a fun little T-Rex in a top hat! I loved this design so much that I created two cool versions of it. The Textured Notes Dies make it so easy to created beautiful decorative layered backgrounds for the foundation.
Background Basics
I created a gate-fold card base with a 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ piece of Gray Granite cardstock, scored at the 2-1/2″ and 6-3/4″ marks. I added Gray Granite panels, embossed with the now retired Sale-a-Bration Starstruck Embossing Folder, measuring 2-1/4″ x 5-1/4″ and 1-1/2″ x 5-1/4″.
Focal Point Foundation
I die-cut a Night of Navy layer and a Timeless Plaid Designer Series Paper layer with the Textured Notes Dies, adhered them together and popped them up onto a 2-3/4″ x 4-1/4″ piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock. The layers are then mounted onto the left gate with SEAL Adhesive.
Darling Dino
I stamped the Darling Dinos T-Rex and top hat images in Memento Tuxedo Black onto Basic White cardstock, then colored him with Stampin’ Blends Markers: Light Gray Granite for the body, Light Old Olive for the tummy, Light Pecan Pie for the claws, Light Lost Lagoon for the spots, Dark Old Olive for the spikes, and Light Lost Lagoon/Light Night of Navy for the hat. I die-cut the images with the coordinating dies, attached the hat with Glue Dots and popped up the dino with Dimensionals.
Sweet Sentiment & Finishing Touches
I stamped the Darling Dinos sentiment in Night of Navy ink onto a 1/2″ strip of Basic White, trimmed the ends and popped it up with more Dimensionals. I finished with three Blooming Pearls.
Two Cool
This version begins with a Boho Blue card base and embossed panel layers. I die-cut Night of Navy cardstock and a different Timeless Plaid DSP pattern and layered it onto Pecan Pie for the focal point foundation.
Focal Point
This dino is colored with Light Crumb Cake for the body, Light Boho Blue for the tummy, Light Night of Navy for the spots, Pecan Pie for the claws and spikes, and Light Boho Blue/Light Pecan Pie for the hat.
The sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy and I’ve used the Pecan Pie Ribbon Dots for accents. Dino-rrrific!
