Dashing Deer With Shimmery Swirls Cards
It's easy to tell which stamp is the run-away favorite from the Holiday Catalog—it's Dashing Deer! It was the first holiday stamp set that I put ink to when my pre-order came in! Shannon West from the corporate office also shared with me that Stampin' Up! was predicting that it would be the top seller of the Holiday stamp sets. I love the pretty patterned deer in the detailed DisINKtive stamp style. The coordinating Detailed Deer Framelits are also amazing! I'll be featuring this stamp set for the month of October in my Countdown To Christmas class series.
Can you see that awesome shimmer? It's GORGEOUS in person!
I used Tear & Tape Adhesive along with SNAIL to adhere that layer to a vertically-folded Crumb Cake card base. Next, I ran a 4" x 1-3/4" piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock through the Big Shot with the Subtle embossing folder, then adhered it to the front. I finished by wrapping some 3/8" Real Red Mixed Satin Ribbon around the card front, tying it into a double-knot and trimming the ends.
Dashing Deer—I stamped the Dashing Deer image in Blackberry Bliss ink onto Whisper White, then die-cut it with the coordinating Detailed Deer Thinlits. It's popped up with trimmed down Foam Strips. I finished by adding a single Real Red Rhinestone to the nose for obvious reasons!
Bundle It & SAVE—Purchase the Dashing Deer stamp set and Detailed Deer Thinlits together in a Bundle to save 10%.
Sweet Sentiment—The Dashing Deer sentiment was stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink onto a 2-5/8" x 5/8" strip of Whisper White. I fishtail cut the ends into a banner shape. Next, I adhered a 3" x 1/4" strip of Blackberry Bliss cardstock under the banner and popped it up with Dimensionals.
Two Cool—For the second version, I tried a non-traditional color combination. The colors make it more wintery-looking than the warm & rich colors of the first card. I started with a Blackberry Bliss card base, a Whisper White embossed background, then a Gorgeous Grape layer across the bottom. I wrapped it up with some Berry Burst 3/8" Mini Ruffled Ribbon.
Dapper Deer—I love how Blackberry Bliss deer can easily go from a palette of reds to a palette of purples and still not look out-of-place. What a versatile color!
Sweet Sentiment—The greeting was stamped in Berry Burst, backed with a Blackberry Bliss strip. I added some Rhinestone Jewel accents that were colored with the Dark Highland Heather Stampin' Blends Marker. Love these pretty purples!
