Delicate Dahlias Heartfelt Sympathy Cards
There is lots of versatility with this beautiful, two-step stamp set. Yesterday, I showed how easy and fast it was to create two-color images by combining the "outline" stamps with the "fill" coordinating stamps. Today, I'm using just the "fill" images to create a pretty panel of blooms. I especially love that the "fill" image in a DisINKtive style stamp, meaning that it has a dot-pattern that gives it extra detail, much like a photo in a newspaper.
Background Basics—I added a 4-1/4" x 1-1/2" piece of Polished Pink In Color Designer Series Paper across the bottom of a Polished Pink card base to give a little detail to the background.
Bitty Blooms—I stamped the Delicate Dahlias small flower onto a 2-3/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Basic White using Polished Pink, Petal Pink and Flirty Flamingo inks. I filled in some of the blank space by adding one or two small leaves in Pear Pizzazz next to each of the flowers. It's layered onto a 3" x 5-1/2" piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock. I tied some Petal Pink Striped Organdy Ribbon around the top of the layers and mounted them onto the card front with SEAL adhesive.
TIP: DisINKtive stamps need just a small amount of ink to provide superior detail. Many times, I've found that my ink pads are too juicy, and the stamped image ends up being blotchy. My Polished Pink blooms in this card show you an example of too much ink. To lessen the ink, I have a dedicated Bone Folder that I use to push the ink away from the middle of the ink pad. This will allow just enough ink to stick to the dot-pattern on the ink and offer a lovely, very detailed image, like the Flirty Flamingo blooms on this card. Be sure to watch the video to see this tip in action.
Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Delicate Dahlias sentiment in Polished Pink ink onto Basic White cardstock, then punched it out with the Tailored Tag Punch. It's popped up onto the card front with Dimensionals.
Finishing Touches—I finished by adding a couple of Petal Pink Elegant Faceted Dots next to the sentiment.
Two Cool—For my second card, I began with a Balmy Blue card base, decorated with a piece of Fresh Freesia DSP.
Fabulous Flowers—The floral panel is stamped with Balmy Blue, Fresh Freesia and Highland Heather flowers. I added leaves in Soft Succulent ink to fill in the spaces, then layered it onto a Soft Succulent mat. Before mounting onto the card front, I wrapped some Highland Heather Metallic Grosgrain Ribbon around the bottom for a little texture and sparkle.
Finishing Touches—This time, I stamped the sentiment in Balmy Blue and added a couple of Pastel Pearls next to the label.
