Detailed Dove Peace Joy & Love Cards
Wouldn't your family and friends love receiving one of these elegant, layered dove cards this holiday season? The Detailed Dove Dies make it so easy to assemble that beautiful dove and the sentiment is so hopeful and joyous!
Background Basics—I layered a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of the Plush Poinsettia Specialty flocked vellum over a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" Coastal Cabana mat. TIP: If you dab on the SEAL Adhesive, rather than apply it in a long line, it will be less likely to show through the translucent paper. I mounted the layers onto a Thick Whisper White card base.
Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Dove of Hope sentiment in Coastal Cabana ink onto a 3-3/4" x 5/8" strip of Whisper White cardstock and adhered it across the bottom of the card front. I also added a 3/4" x 5" piece of Silver Foil down the side. I added some Pool Party Holiday Rhinestones next to the sentiment for a little sparkle.
Delightful Dove—I die-cut the dove layers with the help of the Detailed Dove Dies. Using Whisper White cardstock, I cut a dove body, two solid wings, two detailed wings and the extra tailfeather piece. You could use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the layers together, but I wanted the detailed cut feathers to lift up and bit for a little more dimension, so I used Glue Dots. First, I tacked the tailfeathers to the back of the dove body with one Glue Dot. The wings are pieced together with two Glue Dots under the solid part of the detail-cut wings.
I adhered the first set of wings onto the card front, then added the body, then the other set of wings a little offset from the first. When positioning them, I took care to overlap the Silver Foil to help highlight those wings.
I finished by die-cutting a Silver Foil branch with the Detailed Dove dies and I adhered it with Multipurpose Liquid Glue under the beak. Lovely!
Two Cool—I created a second version featuring the Seaside Spray background.
Sentiment & Details—I also stamped the sentiment in Seaside Spray and colored in Rhinestone Jewels with the Dark Seaside Spray Stampin' Blends Marker for perfect coordination.
