Dragonfly Garden True Friend Joy-Fold Card
I'm loving the Dragonfly Garden images paired with the Peony Garden Designer Series Paper! I shared how to create that version on yesterday's LIVE class. If you like the Dandy Garden DSP that comes with the suite, I also shared a Misty Moonlight version with some of the patterns from that paper pack. I love the monochromatic look of this fun-fold card!
Joy-Fold Basics—This two-part card base begins with a 8-3/4" x 4-1/4" piece of Petal Pink cardstock, scored at the 5-1/2" mark. This base will open from left-to-right, the opposite of a book. The second part of the card base is a 8-1/2" x 3" piece of Petal Pink, scored at the 4-1/4" half-way mark. This side will open like a book.
Background Basics—I adhered a 3" x 4" piece of Peony Garden DSP to the front panel of the larger card base. Next, I adhered a 4-1/2" x 3-1/4" piece of Basic White cardstock to the inside of that base. Next, I adhered the second, smaller card base over the Basic White mat, so it opens like a book and overlaps the other card base front panel. I decorated the front of the smaller card base with a 4" x 2-3/4" piece of coordinating Peony Garden DSP.
Dandy Dragonflies—First I die-cut a Stitched Shapes Dies (now retired) circle from Basic White and popped it up with Dimensionals onto the card front. I stamped a Dragonfly Garden large image with Petal Pink ink onto a scrap of Basic White. I punched it out with the Dragonflies Punch, then popped it up onto the circle.I also punched out a Vellum Cardstock mini dragonfly with the punch and attached it with a Glue Dot.
Sweet Sentiment—I stamped a Dragonfly Garden sentiment in Petal Pink ink onto a 5/8" strip of Basic White cardstock, fishtail banner cut the one end, trimmed off the excess of the other end and tucked it under the circle with some SEAL adhesive.
Finishing Touches—I brushed on some Wink of Stella shimmer onto the dragonfly wings, then added some Petal Pink Elegant Faceted Gems floating around the card front.
Inside The Card—I stamped the small dragonflies image and sentiment in Petal Pink onto the 4" x 3-3/4" Basic White inside piece
Two Cool—My second version features Misty Moonlight card bases, with coordinating papers from the Dandy Garden DSP, which is available thru June 30 only. All dimensions are the same.
Dandy Dragonflies—I stamped the large dragonfly and sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink, too. This time, I colored some Rhinestone Jewels with the Dark Misty Moonlight Stampin' Blends Marker for the gems.
