Hi Stamping Friends!
This is my absolute favorite card from my "Last Thursdays" class last night. We had a small group, but it sure was fun! Thanks to everyone who came over and stamped with me!
Do you recognize the design? It's actually CASEd from the new Dolled Up Birthday Kit that Stampin' Up! released last week.
As soon as I saw this Dolled Up Birthday Kit, I knew I had to duplicate the card! So pretty!
If you want to make some of these pretty cards, this kit is a great option! You receive everything you need to create 6 cards—birthday stamp, Soft Suede ink, sponge dauber, Paper Doilies, Flower Trim, pre-printed dress form die-cuts, card stock and envelopes. It's all ready-to-assemble and it's only $15.95!
I already had all the supplies, so it was easy for me to re-create myself! The only thing I changed was to use Early Espresso instead of Soft Suede.
I started by adhering a Paper Doily to the Crumb Cake card base.
I used the Dress Up Framelits to cut a dress form shape from the First Edition Designer Series Paper. To make it sturdier, I cut another die-cut from Whisper White card stock and adhered both die-cuts together for a double layer. You wouldn't have to do that, but it made it sturdier for sponging Early Espresso Ink around the edges.
I stamped the soon-to-retire Elements of Style floral image on the dress form in Early Espresso. Then, using the Primrose Petals and Old Olive inks, I colored the image with a Blender Pen.
After adhering the dress form to the 1-3/4" x 4-1/2" Whisper White panel and attaching it to the card front with Dimensionals, I added one Flower Trim rosette with Multipurpose Glue.
The stamp used in the kit looks like the same one from Bring On The Cake (but the one in the kit is the clear, Photopolymer kind). I stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso.
Couldn't really mess with perfection, so the second card is almost identical. Just moved the dress element to the side for a larger sentiment. This one would make a fantastic Mother's Day card, don't you think?
