The Affection Collection stamp set is one of those Holiday Catalog sets that may be gone forever! I love the grunge look of this set and how well the images combine so easily for beautiful layered stamping! This was one of my "Last Thursdays" monthly card class cards this month.
I started with a Crumb Cake card base, an Elegant Eggplant framed layer, and Very Vanilla piece for stamping.
I've often felt like layering stamps was a little intimidating, but when you have awesome images like these, you really can't go wrong. Once I selected the colors I wanted to use, the layering part was quick and easy! I simply chose lighter colors for the background images and darker ones that I wanted to stand out.
I stamped the diamond-shaped flourish first in Elegant Eggplant. Then I added the oval burst image in Calypso Coral and some Pool Party colored wings at the top.
I colored the "love" image with Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant markers, stamped on scrap Very Vanilla, then punched out with the coordinating Modern Label Punch to pop up with Dimensionals.
I stamped the v-shaped flourish in Pool Party and positioned it so it would be overlapped by the Calypso Coral Patterns Designer Series Paper. "Always" is stamped on top in Elegant Eggplant. I couldn't resist adding a Wisteria Wonder heart from the Owl Punch for a cute accent!
The banner image is inked in Wisteria Wonder, stamped on scrap Very Vanilla, then cut out and popped up with Dimensionals. I added one Rhinestone Jewel for a little bling!
The second of my two cool cards follows the same color and layering recipe, but uses the "friend" stamp instead.
Affection Collection is much more than a Valentine's Day set. It's trendy look reminds me of the designs you see on T-shirts and hoodies. Wouldn't it be terrific for a teen birthday card or scrapbook page background?! They would love it!
I'm so sad that I'm only going to have a few days to play with this
pretty set before I'll have to say goodbye! But, you won't if you get it
